Periodically check torque on Windshield Wiper nut (no more than 50ftlbs; initial install torque is 65ftlbs). I discussed this with an engineer at the vendor (Sean Miller at Diesel Equipment, 877-307-7059). He said the torque on the nuts (60ftlbs) will naturally relax over time, possibly down to 50ftlbs. Periodic torque greater than 50ftlbs can distort the wiper arm. Do not force the blades in any direction as you will damage the splined interface. If you have to reposition the arm, remove the 3/4-inch nut, wiper arm, and reposition on the spline interface I believe they went to a larger wiper/blade when they changed to the new body style. The blades for 2016+ are 1000mm (39") with part #: WT1000V or BA1000V. WT900V are 36" long.

Not uncommon. I agree, too big a blade with large moment arm applied to thin splines on shaft. I have replaced my pivot shaft and blade before, The shaft is not easy to replace as I recall, I had to be a contortionist to get behind it.

Good information, thank you! I just checked mine, never turned on yet, and they were loose at 50 ft lbs on the new coach.

I use 28 inch blades, available for $10-$12 at Costco or Walmart. They give plenty of visibility, place less stress on the hardware, and at that price I can easily change them every year for good performance.

Marc. for as little as I drive in rain, which is almost never, I will probably make the same mod on the new coach when it's time. I carried the 28 in. for spares on the Anthem, and will do the same on the CS. Costco sale price, under 5 bucks for GoodYear's.

Gary, might want to check the new coach blades for torque. Mine were loose enough that I believed they could have stripped without to much problem. I have added re-torquing to my annual check list.
