Corvette Trailer

I don’t know if this is typical, or not. Yesterday I was helping a new arrival here at Tiger Run.

Behind his beautiful Newmar was a color matched enclosed trailer. Inside was a Corvette.

What is remarkable was the large full height side door and removable wheel well.

This made access to the drivers seat of the ‘Vette extremely easy.

He also has solar on the roof to keep the jack battery topped off.

Overall, a really slick trailer.

That is slick! Do you remember who manufactured that trailer?

Tony, let me look at it later. I want to say Featherlight but I’m not positive.

Hey Matt,

Did you buy a lot there?

Looks like a very cool resort!

Matt,

Let us know when you can. I was looking at the trailer in the link below, but an enclosed trailer is more desirable.

Yes, Matt, please do! Eventually, my wife and I would like to buy an enclosed trailer for our Jeep, a golf cart and other assorted toys once we are closer to full time. Featherlite and Stacker were two of the brands I’ve looked into.
Any thoughts? (Anyone currently pulling a 3 axle trailer, feel free to chime in!)

Seen a few like that at the track, a lot of the cars can only be winched in if you don't have that setup.

My guess it’s a ATC trailer out of Nappanee, ind. practically next door to a Newmar. Nice trailers. I’m at Newmar rally now and they have one on display.

If you want the ultimate I still think a 22 to 28 foot stacker takes the cake..
Ability to hall 2 cars plus storage and shop all in one.. there expensive and a bit a work to get around with parking but what a dream when your at your destination..

OK gentlemen, sorry it took so long to reply. Evidently the owner is having overheating issues with his K3-605, so I’m trying to help him with that.

Chris, no we didn’t buy here but it would be one of three ownership communities we would consider. Tiger Run is quite nice, and a fantastic location. The elevation is above 9000’, so I’d recommend spending 3-4 days at 5000-6000 to acclimate, then drive up the hill. We did that last year and didn’t feel any effects of the altitude upon arrival. This year we came right up and it’s taken a couple of days to feel normal.

Evidently, the trailer in question is made by InTech and is described in great detail here: 22' inTech Aluminum Car Trailer with Escape Door | Custom Aluminum Trailers | RPM Trailer Sales

He also has a very serious hitch, I’ll try to check that out later today and post info on it. It is the largest, most substantial hitch I’ve seen. The hitch evidently has some movement designed in, which helps absorb shocks from the trailer moving.

-Matt

Thanks Matt.

Great tip on the intermediate stop. Kind of like a decompression stop in reverse!

I currently have a three axle stacker from Intech and it is a great all aluminum trailer. They are definitely at the top for custom built trailers...if you can dream it they will build it. I use a GenY hitch...mine does not have the torsion suspension built in but they make them...last hitch you will ever need.

A stacker would be great, but I have a 10K tow limit and a 1K tongue limit, I'd need a new motorhome. And a stacker is a cop out, compared to a tricked-out 747 with a lift, THAT's the ultimate -- Wall o- China here we come, then lunch Down Under. But, as Dirty Harry once said, "A man's gotta know his limitations." Then, he has to work therein. It'd be nice to get my 800# motorcycle in sideways up front, behind the workbench/tool cabinet, but that might be stretching my limits.

Here is the monster hitch. Brandon called it.

This thing is a beast.
