We use a California squeegee. Works really well for us.

That is way too much work on a 45ftx13ft MH for me. I like the "spray it and forget it" method even though mine is homemade, it works just the same.

A few years ago my wife bought me the DI-120 a single tube unit from Sam's Club. Our water in central Texas is so hard that I can't get more than one coach wash before I need new resin. I use an electric pressure washer for rinse only. If I remember it only puts out 1.3 GPM but whatever I needed to find another method. Yesterday I tried the Aero wash wax.......WOW! My coach was only dirty up to the tops of the basement doors and the rear cap. I understand this will not be great for a really dirty coach but it was the easiest way to clean the coach other than paying someone else (what I usually do). I have not tried running the water through my water softener prior to the DI unit yet. Maybe that would help me get more use from my resin.

I have the DIC 20 as well and run soft water through it. I use a pressure washer and use the DI water for the complete wash and not just the rinse. That makes me hustle less trying to rinse the non DI water soap mix off before the sun dries it. Figure I'm still saving money over hiring it done for the most part. I've had my unit for 9 months, never drain it, just have caps that seal it up after each use. I have washed the entire coach twice, the front end once and noticed this last time that i was reading .07 on the meter. I did just order some more resin for it, as don't want to get caught off guard when the meter finally goes up to the .18 and above. Makes washing this elephant much more easy, before I was using a California water blade and washing the coach in sections, then cleaning up the white calcium water spots that leaked out from all over the place. Figure if I don't spend the money on things that make my life more enjoyable, my heirs will.

I'm going to try to build a DI Resin tank from a filter kit I have. Remove filter, run a hose from inside lid to bottom of the clear housing, install closing valves with screens on both in and out, fill with resin, and plumb it in the coach to a passenger side water hose I have run with quick connect fittings to the faucet in the wet bay. Hope to use for final rinse, and windshield bugs. If not enough resin in one tank, will add 1 more.

This runs soft water to the wet bay faucet, and I would have hot and cold DI water to wash and/or rinse. Make sense?

I have a large soft brush on an extending pole. I use a 5 gallon bucket I put hot water and car soap in. I rinse the coach with regular water then wash it with the brush on a pole. Rinse with regular water and then a final rinse with DI. then I let it dry in the sun. Maybe an hour tops to do my 40' coach. If the front has a lot of bugs and whatnot I may need the ladder and a hand sponge for the heavy stuff.

Not having to wipe the water down to keep spots away saves me a lot of time.

Could someone please measure and provide the total height of the dic-20? I'm looking to mount this in my compartment along with my other filters....

Thanks

I have the On The Go OTG2-DDI- Portable Dual Bed Deionizer and think this unit will do more RV washes than the DIC-20. It's suppose to do about 15 RV washes or 460 gallons before replacing the resin. The height is also a little lower 22". Each tank weighs a little less than 20 lbs each. I've been very happy with this system and it fits underneath very easily.

I have the DIC 20 but bought it without the 2 wheel cart that it often comes with. I did this to minimize the size it would be in my basement laying down. The 20 is 26 1/2" tall (bottom of tubes to top of metal bracket that holds the tubes together) when standing vertically. That, I believe is still too tall to mount vertically in the basement. There is a shorter tube version also. I fashioned a bracket and I hang the DIC 20 onto one of the tires.

The 20 is rated for 600 gallons on resin cartridges.

Please let us know how that works. My homemade "water stick" works great, but always looking for improvements. Being able to connect to my pressure washer would be great.

I think hot water damages the resin. I seem to remember reading that somewhere. I've even wondered if a black garden hose in sunlight feeding the DI unit would heat the water too much.

Found in the operating instructions that input water should be less than 90 degrees. It's nice to know the memory still works sometimes.

DI Tank Concept

Below are the images of the DI tank I will mount in the MH. I used a clear filter tank I had, purchased the valves and quick connects at Lowes, and put it together as shown.

Will fill with resin, plumb it in the Motor Home "in line" to a water connection I ran to my passenger side first door compartment that connects to the faucet in the wet bay with a quick connect fitting. Hope to have DI water for final rinse after wash, and washing bugs off when stopped while traveling. It is also nice having a place to rinse off the feet, etc before getting in the MH.

Not sure if I need to attach a hose to the exit path of the top so that the water will get pulled from the bottom of the clear tank forcing the water through the resin more before it exits? Water enters from the left, and exits through the round tube in the center. (middle photo) Water usually runs through the round filters most of us buy for our coaches.

If this works, it will replace the DI stick that I built for final rinse.

Hi Mark, do a search on Amazon for these cartridges.......( https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_s...ar%2Caps%2C307 )they will fit that filter housing you bought, and seal when installed so the water is directed through the resin. They come apart easily and changing the resin is a snap. I buy the resin 20# at a time on ebay......best deal out there for it.

I have a duel system mounted in my garage to make DI water and it uses these cartridges. I use the color changing resin as you can see.....
