Cracked windshield

Got to my campsite in Durango, CO and noticed a crack in my windshield. Driver side, from the bottom up, about a foot long. Never noticed it while driving, not sure how or what caused it. Didn’t hear any rock or other impact.

I would imagine there aren’t many Entegra windshields in this area. I will be in Oregon where the main RV Glass warehouse is, but not for another 2 months. I’ve had impact damage before (on other windshields, not this one) but no experience with a sudden crack. Any idea if this would be a “fix it now” or wait until more convenient time and place?

If you would like I can help set you up to have it replaced in our Las Vegas location. As for quick fixes I’m not too sure of any that would be of much help.

Thanks, Justin. We will be at AIM Granby maybe we could schedule something after that. If that timing works let me know and I will contact my insurance company (I have full replacement RV glass) and see if we can work something out.

I do have a fairly extensive reservation schedule after Granby but if it has to be it has to be. One thing I learned in 14 years of full timing is that the best laid plans can be upended by RVs any time.

There is a lot of flex in our coaches and a lot of that flex gets transferred to the windshield. A few months back I had a passing semi truck kick up a piece of debris and hit the lower corner of my windshield. A quick inspection showed a tiny crack in that same general area. By the time we completed the last 100 miles of the trip that tiny crack had migrated. I attributed the spread of that crack to the flex in the coach. The actual replacement of the windshield took just a couple hours at the installer. Dealing with the insurance claim through my former insurance company National General was the “long pole in the tent”….25 days from reporting the claim until my windshield went in….totally unsat with those clowns.
