Cradlepoint

So here I am the DW looking for some help. We have a 2017 Cornerstone and I called Cradlepoint today to get some info on how to transfer from previous owner to us so we can use to the best of our ability. I am told by Cradlepoint that our modem is "obsolete" and they no longer service our MBR95 and I would be best purchasing a "newer" model to the tune of $$$700-800. Cannot believe this is the only answer??? Any suggestions on how I can keep the model I have and continue to use it as my wi-fi source? It does not have a SIM card. Using it for work. I am looking for some reliable wi-fi source as I am still working and when we boondock or do not have a strong wifi connection, I need better access as my hot spot is not always as reliable as I need for it to be. Weboost has been mentioned as an alternative. GO

Boy that does not sound right... I purchased our 2015 in March and the previous owner kept the ipad, so after purchasing a new I pad I called them and paid $100 to get on line with our system.

Here are a couple of photos of what we have... perhaps different than yours?

I have the Cradlepoint 1200B. I just looked up the MBR95 and it is a router for use with a 3G/4G modem the "same" as the 1200. Are you trying to reset up the router? The modem for 3G/4G service is separate and would need to be reset with the carrier (ATT, Verizon, etc). The modem will have a sim card. The MBR95 doesn't have a sim card or a modem internally for that matter. If the coach is new to you, did the previous owner give you the modem too? If so contact that carrier.

BTW, a new MBR1200 is $225 on amazon and a Verizon modem is $120 without activation by Verizon, don't know why they would tell you 700-800. Maybe Bill above has a modem connected to his MBR95, I can't see it in the pic.

DH taking on the conversation...

Bill,

Thanx,
Yes, the Unit we have is similar to yours although we are using Vega-Touch vs. the Crestron system.

Ron,
Thanx, for the insight, I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer..., but technology is a bit more challenging than learning even the operation of the coach! It is comforting to know the cost for the 1200 was not what the Cradlepoint CS Rep had quoted.
We will explore further with our carrier (AT&T) and see if we can figure this out going forward

FYI, I had a second so checked Cradlepoint website, the MRB95 support is EOL in 6/30/2020. The manual and guides are still there. You might need a default password to reset up the MBR95 (if you need to), I would think that Cradlepoint should help you with that. I've had my 1200 for 5 years on two modem carriers, works very well. I bring it in the stick house when COX goes down. Good Luck

I would check with Entegra C/S or Firefly and they should be able to point you in the right direction. Curious though...we also have the same router in our 2017 Anthem and all we need to do is use the password on the label of the router for access.

What are you trying to use the router to do? I believe that it is only used for internal communication within the coach and does not connect to anything in the outside world.
