crestron option
We have the ipad option. Looking at the main unit in the entertainment cabinet it looks like an every day router. My question can we plug a "hot spot" into the crestron box wnd have wifi in the coach? If so what is the best deal to do 8t with? We have verizon phones now. I am a little technology impaired wnen it comesto things like this thanks for help

We didn't get the iPad option but I do have a wireless router that I installed for Internet access. I plug a Verizon air card into it. Not familiar with the router that Entegra uses but I would imagine that there is a port on there (USB most likely) that you can connect an air card to for Internet access. That's fairly standard in most wireless routers.

I have the old version of the Cornerstone... ( Picked it up 1 year ago today)
CradlePoint router is able to relay your hotspot. I have done it via WiFi from my phone (as an extender) but you can also use it's USB port (which I think would be better) to feed it internet. Won't do that with my particular phone - there is a list somewhere of supported devices that will plug into the USB port. The CradlePoint setup is via a standard html page from your browser.

If you are just looking to connect say a laptop or two to the internet occasionally and your phone is a smartphone, probably the simplest thing is to turn on the Hotspot app installed on your phone and connect your laptops to it. Verizon includes this in their data plans for no additional charge.
If your goal is more advanced and you want to connect your laptops, tablets and other devices on your coach to the internet (like a DVR or TV) and they need to be connected all the time, then the router approach like hawgguy described might make more sense. In that scenario the air card or MiFi type device needs to be added to your data plan and will cost you extra ($20) per month.
In either case the iPad Crestron functions can only be done locally on the coach, they will not allow you to access your coach from a remote location via the internet.

We use the app Foxfi ($7.95 one time charge) with our Verizon. Gives us wifi anywhere there is phone service. Fast enough to stream video smoothly. Eats up data though...we have unlimited with our phone plan..

I have the same grandfathered Verizon plan. I have rooted my android and flashed the ROM to one that has the tethering activated. FoxFi not needed.

I have just done what you are talking about. Ours is a 2015 Cornerstone, and I have a Verizon MiFi, while I don't use it for movies or anything like that it is nice to not have to switch the wifi source back and forth. Google the cradlepoint router and there is even a youtube video to walk you through the process of connecting the cradlepoint to your wifi source and then serve that up through the coach connection.

This stuff can be confusing. Not sure what fla tom was trying to accomplish. We brought our 2015 Cornerstone home a month ago today and I am still trying to figure out how all of this stuff works, and I am making some progress. Ours does have the Creston option with is the basically an internal wifi network in the coach that allows the owner to use a Ipad to control most of the electronics in the coach. My wife and I both have Iphone 6Plus phones and we use Verizon wireless as our carrier. I downloaded the Creston App for IPhone from the App Store for $99 and I can control all of the same stuff in the coach without having to carry the Ipad around.
We have next to no options in our neighborhood for fast internet access, but found that the area had Verizon wireless service so when we switched to Verizon about 4 years ago, we added a Verizon MIDI box, which is essentially a free standing internet hotspot with its own telephone number. This is a lot different than the old air cards. We use the Verizon MIFI at home for primary internet access and have a shared data plan covering the Iphones, an IPad, and the MIFI box and connect our computer, and a Kindle. I have an all in one Toshiba computer and when we travel, load the computer, the MIFI box, and we are good to go with internet access every where we have traveled so far.
I am not sure and don't know what it would accomplish by connecting the Creston IPad to the internet via the Verizon MIFI. I suspect that it would not work the way one might expect, which is something I have found with the IPhone and Creston App. The Creston connection to the coach router is a WIFI connection and these devices won't support multiple WIFI connections simultaneously. When my Iphone is conected to the Cresson WIFI, I have no outside internet access and can't check email unless I change the WIFI to a carrier or WIFI with internet connection.
I was somewhat concerned about the IPad access and the Creston electronic controls, but with a bit of logic like the front TV means the one in the front, and the back TV does not mean the one in the Bed room, but the main TV. So I think we have this down. My current problem is the Trip-Tek which does not seem to work and has not worked.
Business and other issues are keeping us closer to home. We are normally in Colorado now, and the mountains are calling and I can't answer.... We have taken two weekend trips in the Cornerstone and I am looking forward to putting this coach on the road!

TurboDave the Cradlepoint (Brand of router) that is in your coach does support two wifi connections. You can tell it that your WAN (wide area connection) is your verizon mifi device and it will serve up the internet to your coach connection. That is why we did it in ours now we don't have to switch wifi sources to get to internet or the crestron app. Hope this helps.

Question, we have the firefly system in our new coach, everything has worked fine since we took possession back in February. In late May we parked the unit in our RV garage, I took the iPad in the house to use as a second computer for e-mail and Internet browsing. Today I took the iPad back in the motorhome, we are getting ready for a fall trip, the iPad connected to the server without a problem but the crestron app would not connect. It just sat there, with the message reconnecting please wait. I turned off both units and restarted, same results, any suggestions?

Did you try a soft reset of the iPad and then check settings to make sure it is back on the coach and not your home network? If that does not work Firefly has a reputation for great customer service, call them. JMHO 🚌😎
