Trying to buy a new Cummins 12.5HDKCB generator for a 16’ Cornerstone but Cummins has a one year wait on new orders. Anyone know of a large distributor that might possibly have one or have placed a order for some already that I might get sooner than a year? Thanks. Rick

I would be looking at a salvage yard. Most generators haven't been run enough to have any serious problems

They show several used 12.5KW generators but also show new (my guess they don't stock so they won't have new).

If you are close they will actually install for free if you buy from them, or at least they did.

How about checking with Cummins-Onan in Elkhart. They service the OEMs and undoubtedly have product in stock or in the pipeline. They're right on on Beck Drive in Elkhart and perform parts-service-etc.

One other question: Why do you need to replace?

Generator of this size aren't inexpensive and you could probably repair your existing unit for far less and be able to get parts faster.

25” water in my shop. Insurance paid me for a new one. Still works but know that could change at any time

I see. Without a specific area of failure it's going to be hard to repair. If the unit was submerged it may develop issues in the generator windings, control circuitry or engine later on. It doesn't pay to pull the entire unit and replace every potential area of failure.
