Dash fan blower motor replacement help
Anyone had to change their dash A/C fan blower motor out? I have a 2014 Anthem and bearings went in motor. Got a new one coming. I removed the old one by working through the removed panel that mounts the Nav and Camera Screen. However, it is extremely tight and caused squirrel cage to bind when being removed as it contacts panel I'm pointing at. Anyone loosen or dislodge the lower half of floor panel where passenger's feet are located (finger pointing in picture)? If so, what was process? Easy? If not, then I'll attempt to reinstall through same panel and attempt to not bend squirrel cage. Thanks for any suggestions, Tommy

NIRVC told me they have to take the dash apart to change mine. Rather poor engineering IMHO since they evidently go bad after a couple of years.

Yikes
I removed my console drawer and could see the fan right there. Did you try removing the drawer and maybe temporarily unmounting the Aqua Hot heat unit there and sliding it to one side? Just a thought. Hope mine doesn't go out soon. It's too bad they didn't design that so the blower is mounted from the genny compartment on the firewall like a classic Detroit car.

When sliding out the fan motor with squirrel cage, it contacts the floor panel I'm pointing at in pic. The floor panel is just enough flexible to get motor out but was trying to find a solution to reinstall that wouldn't allow squirrel cage contact with anything. The best solution is floor panel removal but dont know how big a job that would be.

I have a Tuscany that has the exact same motor even the same brand, it seems like a common problem for these to go bad. Mine screemed to which we had to listen for 6000 miles as no one could get us in to replace the motor.
I just replaced mine myself which was a challance but at least it is done and I replaced it with a Siemens brand. Hopefully it is of better quality. Price was $35

Eureka!!! Something finally got easier on a reinstall than removal for RV repair!!! The new fan motor seems to be a bit sturdier so hope that is an improvement over OEM. However, the squirrel cage attached to the motor is now plastic and slightly smaller in diameter and length so slid right in without any dash panel removal. Something finally got easier. Tommy

Got new motor w/ squirrel cage already assembled from MHSRV. My rear center brake light also had half the lights out so ordered that at same time. All arrived in 2 days.
