I use my CR spotless for the entire wash and rinse process. Using the Ryobi PW, at 1.5gpm it works wonderfully. Foam gun, wash pail and rinse are all spotless and dry perfectly. I plan to by a smaller unit to bring with us when we go on longer trips.

Buddy, I built a smaller unit using (2) 10" water filter housings. It worked fine but the poor quality water we hit early in the trip caused me to pull the CR system out.

Whatever system you use will be greatly affected by the quality of the incoming water. We've spent a lot of time in South Dakota and Colorado, and have seen some pretty hard water.
