Dealing with freezing nights
For those of you who have dealt with freezing nights, how low do you let the temperature get before unhooking your water line?
Later...

Or if in an RV park, you can let the water drip slowly which keeps the water moving slowly. That is the strategy we used in my grandparents house which at one point had exposed pipes in one house and the pipes would freeze and the dripping worked.
Not the best strategy out west where water is a more precious commodity.
And if I was located up north or traveling up north, I would probably disconnect as soon as the weatherman predicts 32 degrees. My problem back in Pennsylvania was that the temps were often predicted for cities, and we lived in more remote areas and our temps were always three or four degrees lower than the predictions

I don’t worry about it. We have a heated hose but we just fill the tank and use the pump.

I'll disconnect the evening prior and live off the water tank until temps warm up the next day, or longer if necessary.

I don't leave my hose out in freezing weather. We use the fresh water tank and the pump. It gives as much pressure as most RV parks and no chance of freezing in the heated basement.

I've been pulling it in any night they predict 32 or below. Just wondering if I was cutting it to close.
Later...

The weather guessers are frequently wrong and we usually pay when they are and we believe them. I fill my tank on a sunny day above freezing then disconnect, drain and blow out the water in the hose with my breath. I then connect the two ends to keep the creepy crawlers out and put it away or just leave it on the ground until needed next. We operate off the tank using the pump.
One winter I tried using the slit foam insulation designed for copper pipe the length of the hose with Gorilla tape on the butt ends without completely draining the hose. Didn't work very well. After a snow or a few cold spells the ground is often colder than the air temperature. Leaving the hose in the sun away from any shade makes it a lot easier to handle.

Living in Colorado for 20 years, just a couple of hours at 32*, a thin garden hose can be frozen solid in spots if the ground water is already cold.. Easier to use the 100 gallon fresh water tank and not worry about it.

Following this because I may have to drag my TT over to daughter's house for wife to stay while daughter recovers from surgery. Worried about the impact on water lines if a freeze occurs.
I would worry that the fresh water tank in my case is not heated well enough.
Do you mix anti-freeze in the gray/black tanks to minimize freeze risk?
I would probably argue in those temps, if you have plugs to put on each of the hose to avoid creepy crawling things, better to keep the hose stretched out. Trying to curl and then straighten most hoses in cold temps can be a bear: Although I haven't played with my RV hoses much to see if they react as badly.
I wonder - I think I drained my water filter the last time i used it before I stored. Dang, now you have me wondering.

I can't resist relating this story...
Some years ago when we had a 2004 Alfa SeeYa Class A diesel coach, we ended up spending the night in a campground at Lake Powell on our way back home from somewhere. The elevation in that particular campground was about 3800 feet. It was a nice afternoon when we arrived, so I didn't think twice about hooking up a relatively short fresh water hose.
As bad luck would have it, the overnight low fell into the high 20's/low 30's. When I went out to disconnect the water hose I found it frozen solid. I managed to get both ends unscrewed, but now the question was what to do with a seven or eight foot length of frozen water hose.
I considered the basement storage, but didn't want things getting wet as the ice turned to water. So I decided to put it in the shower. Fortunately, the Alfa had really high ceilings and the hose wasn't completely straight when it froze, but even so I had to stand it upright to get it to fit inside the shower stall.
That worked fine except for all the clanging noise we got to enjoy on our drive home as the hose began to thaw and collapsed a foot or two at at time. Probably should have just left it there at the campground for the next guy.

Entegra has heated basement so all tanks are heated as well.

A heated water hose is well worth the $. Just don’t leave it at home like we did on this trip! Now we have 2!

I agree with some others. Too much variance in weather predictions. Forecast says 34/35 degrees overnight, fill the tank and be done. Your electric side of your AH will have an easier time keeping water hot (showers).
