After doing a good visual inspection of the DEF system i did find a blue spiral wound hose that goes from the DEF pump to the exhaust burner that has rubbed on a frame rail and is now worn in half! Possibly this is the problem and replace this SPECIAL hose and things back to normal! Where to get this hose, well thats gonna be a horse of a differet color my guessing!
Hopefully the worn half into hose is the only issue and all will be okay when replaced! Keep things posted!
It may be a good ideal for folks to just check the hoses on other coaches out there!

That sounds like good news. That hose might provide a pressure or vacumn input to the DEF system and with it gone it just dumps DEF. The problem may remain after repairing the hose that you may not be able to clear the limp mode fault.

Hogdriver,
We are sure hoping that is the only issue! Hopefully limp mode will sort out with hose changed! Now just to get the hose replaced is the next issue!

Possibly,,,,, the chaffed hose also degraded on the inside allowing rubber fragments to collect in the DEF inlet solenoid and cause it to stick open. Hope your back on the road soon, good luck.

Please keep us informed what the repair procedure was, and lets hope it is easy.

I would write a strongly worded letter to Cummins pointing out the authorized repair centers that wouldn't look at the situation and have them evaluate their participation. Any authorized service center that provides that level of service reflects poorly on the choice the manufacturer made in certifying them. They have special help lines to call and get answers, sounds to me like they were idiots and you saved yourself money and grief moving on.

My coach was damaged at a Spartan service center never again will we leave it alone. we will use a speedco as they invite you to watch. Spartan just milked as many hours as they could then after all that then damaged it. So hopefully some of them actually care, this one sure didn't just made a mess of a lot of stuff and even used the bathroom.

Well , we dropped the coach off and naturally took pictures of it real good for any possible damages! As of the coach there 3 days already they have only moved it from outside the fence to inside and said they will get to it when they can! The last coach we took to them took 6 weeks to fix the cruise and change oils and filters! Bad thing is this was only place we could cripple it to without being towed! So, unless a miracle happens looking for at least 8 weeks myself with this place!
But who knows! April 1st made 3 years ownership of the coach and it has been in the shop for about 8/9 months of that time! 7700 ( yep seven thousand seven hundred miles on it) and all of those have been to and from repair facilities, NOT ONE single pleasure trip in this coach since buying it!
Hopefully this will change soon!

Thanks for the update, sure sorry you were not able to get it to a better shop. Maybe towing it might be a better solution?

Just for my knowledge, as my Anthem is at the factory now.......Did you take your coach to Entegra during the warranty to have it checked out completely? If it takes six weeks to get an oil change and a minor fix done, I would seriously consider another service facility. Pigeon Forge is an heavy RV tourist area and there has got to be some very good mobile repair guys in your area that will come to you. If you don't like their work you can ask them to leave and they don't have your MH held hostage. Just my thoughts.

Good news! Coach is repaired and back home in Louisiana put back in enclosed storage until we get back down to get it!
Just so everyone can be aware of the problem and check their own RV's out, it was a Blue spiral wrapped hose comng from the DEF tank/pump to the Injection tube in the exhaust system . The hose had rubbed on a body support brace and worn the hose half into, seems this was what caused the system to just continue to pump fluid into exhaust. It is some type of pressure sensing hose , vacum or pressure holding? Never could get a straight answer from the shop!
Chuck, the long service was on a Mandalay we had and the shop is the only Freightliner service remotely close! As for the coach going back through Entegra in Elkhart, it went through 2 times and i begged them to take it through once more but they said done all they could there!
i will say though, Customer Service ( Joyce) is a blessing for Entegra owners! Our coach is 3 years old with 7,800 miles on it. Out of warranty now and Joyce basically got things rolling and the proper people to talk to for getting coach fixed.
Now , Just MAYBE we can use the coach one day!!

We would love to get out more, but HONESTLY since we have had the coach it has stayed on the shop. 2 trips to factory, last summer it was down for 17 weeks straight in the shop. All the miles on the coach are from initial delivery and trips to and from Elkhart Indiana for repairs. Last count was 4 cancelled trips due to mechanical issues on the day scheduled to leave. Issues ranged from complete jack system failure, DEF system, Fridge went out 2 times. Sooner or later we gotta get this coach lined out.
But for now it seems ready to go, just 12 hours away from us for now.
