The Def Filter is not required to change until 200,000 miles.

Under the main DEF canister there is a circular cover near the pump assembly. Remove the cover. Inside the new filter there is a small plastic tool that is used to push up into the center of the filter cartridge. Once inserted, pull down on the tool and the filter comes with it. Reinsert with your hand and then put the cap back on. 5 min job.

FLYING BUTCH , Sorry for late response but was travel day yesterday and like you I do all my Fluids & Filters .
DEF Filter Cummins # 5303604
FYI: I do mine every 2-3 years as the 200,000 mile timeframe doesn't apply to our Motorhomes !

I replace mine every other year as well. It's cheap insurance against crystalized DEF getting into the system. If I recall, it takes a 1-1/16" 12 point socket to remove the filter cap. You could try it with a channel lock pliers but I'd be warry of damaging the flange on the cap. Also, don't lay directly underneath the filter when removing the cap. If you do you'll get a splash of DEF in your face.

200,000 does not apply?
I certainly understand that you can change your filters once a week if you want but where in Spartans, Entegra's, or Cummins literature does it say the 200,000 mile Maintenace schedule for a DEF filter does not apply to motorhomes?

I have the Powerpoint file from the Spartan Academy. Spartan states that the DEF filter is to be changed at 200,000 miles or 2 years, whichever comes first. I doubt that any motorhome owners will see that kind of mileage so the two year interval will be most commonly used.

I went to Spartan Academy in 2019. I guess they changed it.
See picture.

Here is a link to a thread I initiated, detailing the replacement of the DEF filter on our 2018 Cornerstone:
https://www.irv2.com/forums/f278/def...ne-544222.html
Be aware that Entegra coaches with different engines may be equipped with a different DEF filter.
