Heat related issues is where I’m beginning to lean more so than any other single issue. Even Chuck’s (Brobox) issue on both coaches may be heat related. I’m guessing which is always dangerous, but it does seem like heat may be a cause in at least some of the failures.
That begs the question as to whose issue this really is. If the location of the DEF tank is putting it in more of an exposed area, then it would go back to whomever designed the DEF tank to go into a high heat exposed area.

2016 Freightliner XCR - Newmar Ventana
Two DEF Head failures
One DEF pump failure
Current issue with DPF and re-gen system. Not sure what’s wrong yet, but will only clean out with forced re-gen
I’ll just state again for the record (even though the idea was criticized and rejected last time) :
THIS COMMUNITY WOULD BENEFIT FROM A DIESEL EMISSIONS FORUM,

2017 Newmar Essex at 27,800 miles - Spartan K3 chassis. Literally happened as it was being powered up for a cross country, 3+ month trip. Spartan says parts are unavailable, none expected until at least mid-August … blaming the worldwide chip supply issue.

I will, but the failure and my phone call with them was less than 24 hours ago ... that's when they told me mid-August. I'll keep trying, early July would be great!

All types of rigs are having DEF issues.
But I did learn that the Shyft Group is the parent company of Spartan.
Perhaps Spartan chassis owners may want to contact Shyft,

I wanted to post in the other thread no DEF problem
Alas, all three codes after driving 360 miles from home on the way to Colorado for a long ago planned trip. Didn’t get de-rated to 5 mph, but almost no power.
2019 Aspire.

2020 Aspire 42DEQ, 5800 miles. Went to NIRVC in Dallas to get 4 corner weights. Was chatting with grandson on the cell phone. He is so excited to take a trip with gram&gramps next week. After the rig was weighed, I got in and the annoying alarm was on with check engine light. Turned it off and on a couple times with same result. Called Spartan, walked me through how to access the codes, 3 codes came up and the tech told me I had the DEF head failure. Shoot I thought I would have some time on this given only 5,800 miles. Haven't called my grandson yet to break the news to him. Poor kid, his mom sent me a picture of a count down calandar he's been keeping in his room.
I'm new to this industry/lifestyle. I am amazed at what the consumer puts up with. Its truly amazing. I am a pretty reasonable guy but I am so close to just selling my rig and putting this whole experience in the rear view.

beckeda, that is one of the saddest stories on the problems these DEF heads have caused that I have heard. Some will never recover the losses Shaw and Spartan have caused. I hope you will file with the NHTSA. Maybe one of these days action will be taken.

Earlier this week I sent an email to “teamsupport@shawdev.com” asking whether I could source a unit of any generation for research and development of a diagnostic product or alternately get some information about the unit's messaging protocols. I got no response. Tried resending the email asking if anybody was getting the messages and when I might hear something. Still no response.
So I tried calling and pressing the buttons for the “Support Team”. No answer but “leave a message”. Tried Sales, again voicemail. I wonder whether they just quietly went out of business and hope nobody notices. All I’m trying to do is get some info help to try and help relieve THEIR problem. Infuriating.

After my second DEF head went out, I tried everything you did trying to find out if there was anything I could do to avoid the constant failures. I received the same treatment as you did.
After the, "we don't care additude" I filled the complaint with NHTSA encouraging others to as well. Shaw is not the end users friend.
