Thanks for the additional info.
What is RWC?
Your profile says you have a Nexus Ghost? Is that correct? Is it the same DEF head and sensor as in Spartan chassis?

Jerry, unless something has changed the Nexus Ghost is built on an International MV607 chassis with a Cummins B6.7 engine. And I’m relatively sure that chassis has a Shaw DEF head (same as Spartan).

I wonder if it is a different Shaw DEF head that is on back order again? So little known on the new company that has come to life. It is a shame that Spartan and others are not being more transparent in a situation such as this and the hardships it causes on the end users.

To help others. I constructed the CanBed version of the DSS simulator. It was easy except for one step.
You need a USB to micro-USM cable withy all 4 wires connected. Two of the wires are to supply power, and two of the wires are to carry the data. Not all USB to Micro0-USB connectors/wires have all 4 wires connected. The one I found first in my "Box-O-Cables" was a Kindle re-charge cable. Tried to download the software and it appeared to install correctly. Got a "thank you" or some other similar verbiage that suggested that all was OK, but a buddy of mine, who had done this several times looked at my last picture of the software download process on my computer was not right and said that the last picture of the end of the install didn't look right. The guess was that I had used a two wire version of that cable and the software had not downloaded properly, so I went out to WalMart and found a USB to Micro-USB cable for about 10 bucks and tried with that cable, and I knew it was correct as I got a different scroll of software on the laptop computer screen (Windows 12) when it finished. The scroll is so fast you cannot see it all, but you can see the final screen easily and it exactly matched the picture of the final screen shown on the install document.
It was pretty easy. You need a soldering pencil (definitely not a "gun"), solder, and a 4 wire (really any new one) USB to micro-USB cable. The Command prompt is in any version of Windows, but is easier to see on some (early) computers and more difficult to see or it is labeled differently on newer computers, but if you type Command Prompt into the Windows search area, it will take you right to the command prompt screen (the command prompt is just a line of code which begins C: )

Easy to tell the difference, a data cable that come with all Android phones have 4 lines on bottom the mini USB plug. A charging only plug only has 2 lines on the mini plug. About the only time a 2 wire plug is included with any device is for charging only and not for downloading etc. Also a 2 wire cable is usually much thinner than a standard data cable.

Actually, its not easy to tell the difference unless you have a DVM and check the connectivity/continuity of all pins on the cable connectors. The cable size and "looks" are exactly the same in a 2 wire or 4 wire cable. Appearance alone does not reveal the difference ... externally, they usually look exactly the same (at least in the case of my 2-wire and 4-wire cables).

There might be, but discussion of "for sale" assemblies or "for hire" assembly of the simulator violates the Community Rules here.
If you are capable of changing a light switch or hooking up an entertainment system you are likely capable of assembling this unit. If you can update or install a computer application from a USB stick you have all the IT chops you need.
If you run into a problem, Archer2 and others can help troubleshoot. We've got your back.

Hi Larry. Early on my friend PaulSmi sent me a working sensor that was intended for a Nexus on an International chassis. That unit was an SSI made in Wisconsin. It was physically different but electrically exactly the same as the Shaw unit. The fact is that if one had a working sensor from any manufacturer that uses the J1939 data protocol, you could plug it in in place of a failed sensor and just stick it into a paint bucket of good DEF and the ECM would not know the difference.

Please see my post on the previous page. The user has a 2011 coach so it is not a candidate for the DSS.

Archer2, I finished the DSS today. As was I was putting it together I was thinking how the sharp guys did a fix for $73.75 retail that Shaw Development could not do at a cost of $700.retail, and had 7 attempts. You all have a lot to be proud of, thank you.
Tested it with continuity from the plug pins to the solder pins on the back side of the board, all 100%, I'm good to go.

So do I. At least I do not have to worry about planning my routes around repair facilities. I do not have faith that my replaced Gen 5 with a Gen 6 will last. I seem to get a lot of the 1 in 100 DEF heads.

RWC: https://www.rwcgroup.com
They deal with the International Chassis. You may have the Freightliner?
My engine is a Cummins 6.7 with an Allison 3000 transmission. The software patch was developed by Cummins to ignore the sensor when it was reprint low levels. It was provided to all authorized Cummins service centers due to the inability to get sensors and as a result of all the trucks down. The install was free.
Emission control warranties are typically longer than standard.
