Detailing going rate?

My 2014 Entegra needs a wax. Got a couple of minor scratches from tree limbs on the side. Detail guy quoted $600 to wash, buff scratches, and wax coach. Fair price? What are you guys paying? Per foot?

This coach is only a year old so no heavy oxidation or anything like that.

I paid $1.50/ft for wash, hand wax, and machine buff in Foley Al. At $600 dollars I'd it's a tad high!

$300 for wash and hand wax and buff at LVMC Resort in Vegas. A lot of competition in the resort, though, and prices range from $300-600. Don't know who the more expensive think they are fooling. OTOH, paid the same for just a wash in Paso Robles at Summeriest last year.

In Naples this past season going rates were $80 for a wash and $300 for wash and hand wax and buff (wash only on roof at that rate). Wheel polish extra, $15 each.

I bought my Monaco used a few years ago and after a wash&wax this spring it looked better than it ever had while I owned it. Larry Fields in the Naples area has a small fleet of trucks/trailers with teams that work in FL during the season then fan out to rallys and big rv resorts around the eastern half during the summer. If you see a truck or trailer that's yellow and labeled "Mobile Wash" with a phone # that starts with 239, that's them and you can count on a good job.

X2, Had Larry and his crew do a full detail on our bus a couple of times while at Riverbend. Does a great job and his crew is polite and hard working. Uses top quality products as well.

Approx $400 for a hand wash, hand wax/buff and wheels sounds about right. Larry's guys are amazing!!!!

I've also been quoted $10/foot for a complete job. I've seen quotes that are less, but not done with Larry's quality of attention to detail.

Also, buffing out tree branch marks is a bit of extra labor, so the price could be higher for that.

You can buy a 10 inch buffer and a bottle of Mother's scratch remover cheaper that you can have it done professionally. Depending on the depth of the scratch of course. I've paid from $ 100 to $300 at various places. The last I paid for a wash and a rub down was $110 in Redding CA. Gave them $150 because they spent most of the day on it. Looked good in the end though. A guy in Gold Beach Oregon thought it a good idea to plant Azaleas or Rhododendrons between his skinny sites. Caused some shallow scratches in the clear coat. buffed them out with the above mentioned. Worked well.

$10.00 a Ft. Is generally the going rate. If in the central FL. Area try SCRUBBS detailing at the Greater Outdoors. All hand, no pressure washer and includes the Accuride rims on a tag. Terrific job well worth the bucks.! thumb:

I bought a double head multiple speed professional buffer for $300 and carry it with me to take care of those pesky scratches. If you're the least bit agile, the scratches are gone quickly. Once a year the rig gets a good scrubbing with the buffer. The rest of the time I use a wax called "Fast Wax" which goes on and off quickly.

For a light wash I use the dry wash stuff used on airplanes.

How light a hand do you need to ensure that you don't accidentally buff away some of the clear coat? Do you use the buffer with a specific wax/cleaning compound?
