Diamond Shield Scratches

So, from the I did a dumb thing department:
While my intent was good, I grabbed the wrong scrubbing pad to remove some bugs from the Diamond Shield. Unfortunately, the scratches are in one of the darker colors so it’s quite noticeable, at least to me.
What products/success has anyone had?
Thanks.
Tom

Diamond Shield Scratches

I was always told you couldn’t fix scratches in the Diamond shield so I was very upset when I had some work done at Entegra and they scratched the Diamond Shield! Entegra, of course, was prepared to do whatever was needed to fix the problem. I took the coach and Entegra contacted Diamond Shield. A representative from Diamond Shield came to the coach prepared to replace a panel, which I was not looking forward to. He said he wanted to try something first and pulled out a bottle of 06064 3M polish and started wiping by hand. It worked! It was perfect! I took this picture cause I wanted this stuff in my arsenal! I have since used it more on the Diamond Shield and have had excellent results. I have also used it successfully with an orbital buffer, being careful not to apply too much pressure or build up heat.

My diamond shield has lots of nicks in it. I'd like to try that polish.
I will look, but can you tell us where to buy the 3M polish?
Thank you.

And the front of your coach looks real good.

Gary; Thanks! I figured 3M might have something. The front takes a pounding. I’ve been careful but…..

Me again. Could you tell us the procedure used with the polish? Looking at the product on Amazon, it mentions using it with foam or wool compounding pads, 3M of course. Thanks

Yes, kind of expensive. But for $50 bucks and it makes my front look nice, it's worth it. Heck, I would spend a $100 to make it look good again

EDIT: I reread your post. What did you use cloth wise to apply the polish and what did you use to buff it out? Thanks again.

Diamond Shield Scratches

Looks like the 06064 3M has been replaced by 06094. That is the quart size. They have a smaller size 06093 that seems pretty cheap. It will be more than enough cause a little goes a long way!
I applied it and buffed it with a microfiber towel initially but I think any soft towel would be fine. I used a blue wheel on my orbital buffer on some other marks then wiped it off with a microfiber towel.
Keep in mind the instructions for application from 3M will be discussing this product used on a painted surface. The Diamond Shield guy just found that this product would work on minor scratches, it won’t fix deep scratches like you can on a painted surface.

All the places I looked at don’t carry or are OOS on the small bottle. Amazon has good enough prices on the quarts. Gary, thanks again for the lead.

This is exactly how I have taken swirls and light scratches out of mine. The DS is soft so a very mild 3M is perfect. I'm not sure if mine is 06064, but IIRC the name is ultra fine. I use that with a blue medium pad and an RO. Comes out perfect
