Diesel fuel additives
I know is been covered but I wonder if anyone remembers the name of the diesel fuel algeside and water remover. My Jeep GC toad crd diesel had a clogged fuel filter after only 15k miles and water...very low fuel pressure with sludge in the fuel line I'm sure from bad fuel. Need to use good algeside and then replace fuel filter again.

You're right Chuck....I will be next week in Houston. I probably still have and account from when we had the trawler. I sure loved our ESI fuel polishing system!

Stabil makes the Algeaside as well as the diesel moisture remover. I buy it at Tractor Supply. I just bought both before I filled and parked it here in Florida for the winter. A friend's son has a diesel repair shop in Missouri and he said the algea problem is huge and he has 2 bays full all the time with that problem. He said it's a big money maker for his company. He said to never park it for over a month without adding the protection.

I looked it up and that is what I bought last time. FL is a killer with algae if not used during storage.

Bad deisel and gas is very very common nowadays, I have used a red bottle called 911 for deisel and it takes moisture out of the fuel immediately. And it thaws out the filter, too if cold out

I use opti-lube and have done so on all my diesels for years. Hard to find on the self, but they ship quickly. I highly recommend it to everyone.

At every fuel filter change I empty the reservoir for the filter and put in an entire bottle of Amazon.com: Sea Foam SF-16 Motor Treatment - 16 oz.: Automotive, cleans the injectors and injector pump and keeps things running nicely.
Can't say enough good things about seafoam i've used it on lawnmowers, cars, generators, diesel, gas, propane, in the crankcase with dirty oil before a change, it's the universal fix it fluid.
This is on a cummins 5.9, your mileage may vary. To date no fuel issues.
As an additive I use http://www.amazon.com/Power-Service-.../dp/B001JT1FJ6
