Differential service

Is it everyone's understanding that you are supposed to drain & fill your diff annually, ANNUALLY?????? Tripping across the hundreds of tips, schedules, etc, put out by FL I realized that is a requirement of the 2 diff used by FL.
Isn't this gross over kill? Seems to be no mention of synthetic, only dino oil.

Run synthetic and go to 50K miles or 3 years.

For the do it yourself people.....Remove the fill plug FIRST.

A guy on here years ago drained his fluid and then couldn't get the fill plug out.
