Digital Dash Clock

This may be normal operation, but the clock in the lower right corner of my 2019 Anthem digital dash flickers.

More specifically, the last digit of the minutes switches between the current time and the next minute.

For example the time is 9:15. For about 10-15 seconds prior to the clock changing to 9:16, the “5” switches back and forth between a “5” and a “6”.

Is this normal operation? Can’t find any documentation on the digital dash in any manuals.

What about when it's 9:19? Does the last two digits flip (19/20), or only the last one (19/10)? Does a 12V "reboot" have any effect?

I’ll have to look at a “9”.

Try the 12v reboot. That has fixed many dash problems.

It gets even better... Crossed from central time into mountain time zone...

Now clock fluctuates 59 minutes off.

10:45 to 11:44.

The “9” DOES in fact fluctuate both digits.

Tried the 12V reset. I’ll let you know.

12V reset seems to have fixed the issue.

A 12 Volt reboot will fix MANY unrelated and seemingly independent problems on our coaches..... One of the first things I try. However, I almost then quickly go to a position directly in front of the VegaTouch display to watch the display go through its reboot sequence. 95% of the time it goes through all the steps that it is supposed to go through, and 1 or 2% of the time, it gets hung up on some step and I know that it needs to be rebooted again.

Why it cures some of the problems that it cures, is often not obvious, but most of us have learned that if the problem involves electricity or 12 volts, try the reboot first.

For example, my coach ACC/CMS and defeated ACC continue to fault. Since that had to do with 12 volt, when that happens, either shutting down the Cummins and restarting, or rebooting 12Volts, or both will fix the problem.

Perhaps I spoke too soon.

Fired up the coach this morning and prepared to drive. Turned on the Xcite radio console and selected the navigation system.

Pulled up my pre-stored destination and headed off down the highway. As I was cruising down the highway, I used the Vehicle Display Controller to inset the navigation display on my digital dash. I got the radio displayed rather than the navigation display.

And the saga continues.... while driving today on a tough section of I-10, the entire digital dash shutdown and rebooted.

A few miles later, the rear camera display gave me the blue screen of death and came back on.

I-10 shook a microwave loose on a previous MH. Nothing would surprise me on that section of Interstate.
