Difference between a Wally and Hopper/ Joeys. With the Wally once connected, it can be viewed from a 4 TV's. For the DW and I that works fine, we like all of the same TV shows. The Wally for a one time $40. charge you can connect a hard drive of your choice and have recording capabilities of one channel at a time. The Wally is $7. a month, prorate to our home account and can be turned off and on via the DISH app. No phone calls involved. (NICE feature) We can also access our recorded shows at home via the Mydish app.
Hopper and Joey: Hopper will record up to 16 programs at a time. The Joey allows someone to view a different program on another set at the same time. I believe the Hopper takes its own subscription, so it will not be a $7.00 a month add on, but others have purchased a Hopper on Amazon and had them activated in the MH as part of their home package, but DISH will not do it through them.
Since DISH has carried some of the tailgater features over to MH's it is really an RV friendly system for traveling.

Voltdoc can tell you what you have and what you need. But that is the splitter. My memory is that you will now have only one coax coming into the splitter. If Rob doesn't show up by the time that you are ready to tackle the basement, then find a place he has contributed to a thread and PM him directly.

Chuck,
Do you then use the Matrix to send the signal where you want it?

Bill
Yes, the Matrix system is what does the switching of the signal to different locations.
If you have the Hopper III, and the wireless Joeys, then you do the switching from your remote control.

Thanks Gary, I ordered a new Wally for $99. I will own that. So, at this point the only unknown is what splitter I will get, I think.

My recollection is that the one that you need is the one depicted on the left side of Chuck's picture. Mine was definitely square. I'll have to do some research to find the specific model if Voltdoc does not come here first.

If you haven't purchased the Wally yet, they are $70 with the updated remote on Amazon. That is where I purchased mine. https://www.amazon.com/Dish-Wally-Re...s%2C194&sr=8-2

Thanks Chuck, but that ship has sailed. If I find it isn't latest model, I will return it.
