That is a VERY frightening failure that you are describing there. You would be doing the manufacturer a favor by sending them that same information.
It is also a pretty sad commentary to the quality of that hitch and baseplate set up. If I owned the same toad and towing hardware, I would be seriously considering getting rid of it and shifting over to something that does not stress my toad as much as your situation.
On a different tact.... I assume you NEVER back up with your Jeep connected behind..... Never .... ever ..... right?

I just found this thread. I have the Maximus 3 geo lift and their tow hooks.
I have had loosening bolts, and recently discovered a crack in the same area.
I have increased the bolt size, welded the frame back, and used red loctite.
I am concerned that it may be a design issue.
I have been dealing with death wobble, and found the cause to be a weak maximus 3 bracket for the upper and lower control arms.
I am removing the geo lift and installing the metal cloak game changer.
May have to do the same thing with the tow hooks.

Demco does have adapters to fix the Blue OX clevis. Give them a call they are great to work with.

I never backed up with this setup. , I am waiting for the new jeep tow hooks so I can complete the install and mock it up on the back of the rig... want to make sure all is lined up .. next might be a tow bar upgrade. So will be looking for a replacement to my ready brute my tow bar is rated for 8000 lbs... and I am close to 6800 lbs on the jeep. I want to make sure I am safe. I like the demco tow bar or maybe another ready brute Hercules rated at 12,000 lbs ..
I did reach out to maximus and posted this on the jeep forum as well.. no response from them as of yet.. those tow loop are not cheap. They run about $320. So to be this lack of support and design structure is disappointing as well as the jeep bolt up points to the metal being so weak.

One of the reasons I went with the rock jock plate was that it is one piece of plate that bolts to both sides of the frame and also to the bumper. Wide to spread the force and several bolts to hold.

I too have heard crickets since discovering the failure of my GeoLift. I am going to be posting full details on the JLF. My death wobble was very scary, and frustrating. Now to pile on with a failure of their tow bracket, I may be forced to do a full bumper removal and repair like you did.
My bracket choices are limited since I have the OEM Steel bumper + Warn 10s EVO winch. I may be going with Roadmasters setup since it is designed for the winch.
Here is the link to my death wobble: https://youtu.be/M4lk6rGwSgY

The death wobble is not related to the bracket. That's a jeep thing unfortunately.

On my previous jeep I had a rock jock , but at the time they did not offer one for the Gladiator. But I am happy so far with the demco as it built pretty solid

The bracket causing my Death wobble is the bracket Maximus 3 "engineered" to relocate the upper and lower control arms. This bracket is flexing and causing my death wobble.
No jeep should ever have death wobble.
The reason I posted this information in this thread is it is relevant based on the same manufacturer has proven to be unreliable in their engineering design. I not only have the OP's issue with my tow bracket, but also a flaw with their expensive engineered lift kit called the Geo Lift.
To summarize: Maximus 3 appears to be very short on quality and design, and should be avoided for all components that are critical to vehicle function or performance.

I plan to seeing the owner of Maximus at the end of next month, the tow loop issue will be on the top of my list. I can tell you that design is a priority for them, and has normally been great at customer support.
I feel confident he can figure something out..

I really hope so. I have talked with them several times about the death wobble issue with their brackets. They are using too thin of steel, and it is very unsafe. The design of their tow loops isn't an issue with material thickness, but rather the overall design. The support structure for each is not meant to have independent forces, but rather to be "tied" together.
The bumper ties the frame points together, as does the Road master and other tow solutions. Allowing one side to have forces exerted without the other is a design flaw, and the core cause for this damage.
For my personal experience this was over a $5k expense in repairing all the damage caused by maximus 3 products.

I have seen both Jeeps, Ford Trucks, and Dodge trucks with a death wobble that has nothing to do with towing.
I agree it shouldn't have a death wobble, but it's been proven those vehicles are more susceptible.

I have the Bue Ox Ascent towbar and asked Demco about fitment. They replied “Our base plate will work with the Ascent without any adapter. “
Contact Demco as your application may be different.

Red Baron, what damage did you experience? I have Maximus products on our 2019 JLUR and want to avoid any issues. Plan to examine the tow hooks and surrounding frame area. Thanks
