Dish Receiver problem on 2014 Aspire
I installed a Dish receiver under the main TV on my 2014 Aspire 42 DEQ. At first, the HDMI output from the receiver would not work when using the inverter, only on shore or generator power. After speaking with Entegra CS, I determined the HDMI distribution power cube outlet in the basement was wired to the wrong junction box. I moved it to the inverter junction box and the output of the Dish receiver appeared an all four TVs. However, the receiver reported no signal from the satellite even though the mobile roof antenna was powered on and functioning. I started the generator, recycled the receiver power and got a signal. Entegra CS says the coax from the roof antenna is run directly to the connector located under the main TV. I'm thinking there is a powered distribution box somewhere. Has anyone else run into this problem? My dealer is 200 miles away and I'd rather not to have to take a 400 mile round trip to solve this one. Thanks, bryan

My Dish receiver is plugged into the plug in the back of the cabinet for power. I have had some "No Signal" issues ...a square box on the black screen...rather than the blue background from the VIP 711k. I know this is one of the coax or HDMI connections in the cabinet, and I thought I had it solved when I found two coax connections that weren't absolutely tight. No issues for a week. Then DW slammed the door last night and it returned momentarily.
If you have the blue screen, I'd call DISH help desk and ask immediately for the rec vehicle support desk.

I get a message from the receiver that it can't find a signal. After I start the generator and power cycle the receiver, it finds a signal in less than a couple of minutes. I can repeat this effect without fail. On inverter, no signal. On generator, works fine. I really think there is an issue with the coax routing where it gets blocked when there is no shore power. I'm going to trace it out tomorrow. It could be something as simple as the coax is connected incorrectly. More as it develops.

OK...not an expert, but the coax I don't believe is powered. When you can't find a signal is it the blue screen with the abundance of words including pull the power for 10 seconds. Or is it the black screen.
I ask this in that if it is blue with words, then the 711 is sending signal to the TVs. If it is a black screen that says simply "No Signal", the the TVs are powered, but it could be no power to the 711 (which you would know if there is not a blue light on the right front as well as a light green in the center). Or, it could be loose coax or hdmi.
That would be my take on power. Could I suggest, if your DEQ entertainment center is like mine, start by isolating power plugs and see if you have a bad power plug. there are 5 plug panels on mine and and five plugs to go in the total of 10 receptacles, so you should be able to isolate.
Next, WRT the inverter, make sure both are on. Recycle them off and back on to make sure...I have no idea how these things are connected up to the inverters, but I do know that different plugs are on different inverter lines...it could be that the plugs get power from the generator through one inverter and from the shore power through the other.
PM with a telephone number if you want to talk through some of this.

Also.if I might add, if you have two VIP211s like I do, switch out the back with the front. For some reason, particularly if you're operating with the In Motion antenna (and maybe with Traveller) this entertainment system is driven in the box are collocated with the grey entertainment box. It could be that you have a bad VIP711. Also, is your 711 a k or a z model?

What does "this entertainment system is driven in the box are collocated with the grey entertainment box." mean? I don't understand.

There is a grey box, most likely setting on top of your DVR that has pouch buttons on the front (TV Ant, Cable, Satellite, etc. It is kind of the controller for where the signal goes to the various TVs in your coach.

Finally got the Dish working. This is my first experience with satellite TV. I called Dish and signed up for service. After waiting overnight, it finally took off this morning. Perhaps the In-motion antenna, or whatever it is called, was having trouble finding the satellites. I moved about 50 miles west to the coast where we have a clear view of the southern sky and it now works fine. I guess I was too impatient. My background is telecommunications where it gets connected, turned on and starts working. Dish is a new, to me, technology that I need to learn more about. Thanks for your help DSL417.

The In Motion is a very difficult antenna compared to the Traveller...unless you have no obstructions, no rain, no heavy dewfall, and you don't want to watch a channel on the back TV that is on a different Dish satellite than the front. That will knock the back TV off signal, and it will remain off until you chose a channel that the front TV is on. Immutable result.
That said, it does a great job on the road as well, provided you maintain the clear view.
When you do have problems, make sure you ask for the Dish RV help desk. The regular help folks can help you change local channels, but they really don't know much more about RVing.
Good travels!
