I would take I-95 S to I-4 W to 417 S all the way to Disney. 417 is a toll road but it's worth it to me.
Avoid I-4 from Altamonte Springs to Disney area - lots of construction, lane changes, exit closures, etc, etc.

That way is a little longer and cost about $10 but it is SO worth it!

X2 we won't go that way when going across state anymore. It is a parking lot most of the time.

We crossed I-4 in April and it was miserable. We went North on 75 and East on 10 going home which was very nice.

Or take 301 at Ocala, saves miles and see some of the Florida interior.

I agree that 301 is a nice route to take for a scenic drive, but getting to it is considerably out of the way for someone going down 95 on their way to Orlando.

We did the drive from Vermont to the Fort last year, 1500 miles each way and the last part of I-4 was by far the worst part of the drive. I agree 1000000% with the others, take one of the bypass routes. The construction in downtown Orlando makes for some tight spaces even before you add the wall to wall traffic. (We went through at around 2pm on Tuesday, it was still nuts)
Enjoy the Fort, we were in the 1400 loop and loved it. You could make a full vacation in the Fort without even seeing the parks.
