DIY seat belt replacement?

I am thinking about trying myself to replace the seat belt that’s inside the Flexsteel driver’s seat of our 2018 Anthem. I am not sure what I might face with removing the upholstery, etc. Have any of you done this yourself? The problem is the retraction mechanism locks up continuously on even a small gentle pull, and the driver keeps getting imprisoned by the dang thing! Besides being extremely annoying, it is downright dangerous not being able to lean forward while driving. It looks like maybe I just have to remove the arm rests and slip the upholstery up the back of the chair. Any shared experience would be greatly appreciated.

There seat belt clips that lessen the constant tension.I would suggest that before tearing apart the chair.
Might also try seat belt extensions.

I had a similar issue with the Flexsteel seats in my Tiffin. The clips are the cure.

Yup, I use these. They work well.
