Just purchased an Epson XP-434 Small-in-One printer at WalMart for $50. Was a perfect size for the printer shelf on the Anthem 44B. The display panel conveniently tilts forward for easier visibility on the low shelf.

WRT scanning...we use an iPhone app called TurboScan. Allows you to scan docs as a .pdf and email, save on your phone or transfer to your computer. There are probably other scanning apps but this works great for us. If you have a Mac, you can "Airdrop" your docs between devices.

HP DeskJet 3752. Just got it. I can print from my iPhone . Small and works so I'm happy with it.

To save interior space, I store my Epson in the basement where the fridge/freezer is and run it wirelessly. For trips, I remove it and put the fridge in place.

It's the ink that costs

Printers themselves are not that expensive but their companies profit is in the replacement ink catritges, Those puppy are redicously expensive and don't last all that long.

I have a HP all in one officejet 6500. A few yeras ago i got refillable ink and cartridges from inkproducts.com. The initial kit cost is $56 ( for my printer) and 2 years later i have used maybe half of the ink in the kit and never hesitate to print print print and in living color. The kit paid for itself after the first use. Takes maybe 20min to refill. The quality of their ink is better than original as the blacks are bolder and pictures come out awesome. Although i still use wallmart photo for the occasional photo printing.

You are NOT refilling the manifactures cartridges but the supplied cartridges in the kit. The kit cartridge hold more ink so the need to re fill is longer.
