Draining DEF tank?

I was just reviewing my Spartan Training manual and I noticed they suggest that the DEF tank be drained after/during storage annually and refilled for the new season. I run mine down low but have not been draining.I am just wondering for those who store their coaches for winter are you doing this? Is there a drain plug or are you siphoning?

I just let mine get as low as possible before storage and ad new DEF when getting ready to leave. So far it has worked for 2 seasons.

I did not drain mine on the Aspire nor do I on the new rig. Never an issue. My longest period of storage is probably 4 months.

I think if you are goining to drain it you will be better served to repace the filter. It comes with a tool or you can use a socket. Mine was really dirty at 20,000 miles or so. It is located at the lower rear of the tank.

Fill it full, to minimize air in the tank that causes crusting due to evaporation. Just what I have done for two (2) years = no problems at this time.

DEF doesn't go bad that fast. I'd prefer to keep it full it prevent crystallization. Winter isn't that long - even in Wisconsin.
