Driver side slide issue

I've been having an issue with my slide this year and actually replaced the slide motor with a new one bought from entegra. always seems slow coming up the ramp while retracting. 2 days ago, I had to help by pushing on it. Looking at the rear sprocket, it all looked ok. However, when laying beneath and retracting, I see the square tubing from the motor, as it turns, scrubs against the large, black, steel tube which feeds electricity to the slide out. The shear pin runns against it as well. it is very tight and causing a lot of drag on the motor and I think this is my problem. I took a video, but cant upload here on this site. Any ideas? The bearings seem ok

The chase ("large steel tube") for the electricity to the slide motor should move up freely if you were to push up on it while inside of the compartment. Mine also contacts that metal tube, I have thought of wrapping the joint with some type of tape to "round the surface" a bit and minimize the forces involved with rotating a square object on a flat surface. I will have to take a closer look at mine as I don't think my shear pins contact the tube though. Have you made sure all the bolts securing the motor to the bracket are tight, and all the parts are in alignment? Some pictures of the area in question may help others to assist in a solution/remedy, also the year and Model of the Coach put in your signature line would be helpful.
If it is any consolation, I hold my breath each time we put that slide in and out thinking that one day the motor will decide it has worked hard enough and quit working!

The "chase" does move freely, if fully extended. As soon as the slide retracts 4-5 inches, as the slide out is going "up the ramp" so to speak, the chase becomes tight against the motor shaft. 2017 Insignia 44w.

You've piqued my interest...
I've attached 2 pictures of my slide area cog, shear pin and "chase" noticing that my shear pin looks as though it also contacts the "chase" just at the end of the full extension of the slide. When pushing up on the "chase" at full extension there is ~ 1/8"-3/16" of movement upward. I have never watched it closely from underneath while retracting so I don't know if I have a similar circumstance i.e "As soon as the slide retracts 4-5 inches, as the slide out is going "up the ramp" so to speak, the chase becomes tight against the motor shaft."

When we depart in a few weeks I will watch to see what occurs and if I experience a similar situation, again, mine seems like it strains initially but a number of posts on this subject seem to echo your concern, I have never really seen a definitive answer either way on a pro-active fix, that being said, I may be well served to purchase a spare motor!

I still have no resolution. If i push on the slide as it retracts, it will work. I have decided to wait until I leave the Keys to check on this further

Did you put in B300 motor when you replaced it.
Change the wiring from a #10 to a #8 from the controller to the super slide motor. Doesn’t make the motor any faster, but doesn’t hesitate.

This will probably also make the motor last longer.

Ok A300 motor.
At least on the W floor plan Entegra went to the #8 wiring. It does make a difference, at least on mine.

Are you sure it’s the A300. I have a 2012 Aspire and recently replaced mine and it was the B300 (just curious).

J Gunter great recommendation regarding wire. I’ll check mine too.

Thanks.

I was pretty sure it was B300. I know the other three are B500.
