Drop Receiver for 2016 Edge

Morning Folks
we are upgrading our 2011 MKX to a 2016 Edge Titanium
we used a 4" Drop with the MKX.
I was wondering if the 6" drop is working for anyone or you have had to go to the 8" drop.
the Edge tab height is 3" 1/4" lower the than the MKX on the blue ox website
we have a 2014 Aspire 42DEQ
thanks for helping

I believe ours is a 5 inch drop for our 13 MKX. Works fine and is almost dead level.

Hello Ray,

Although I haven't received my dual drop receiver from Amazon yet, according to the dimensions I found on etrailer.com, a 4" drop will line up perfect with my new 2017 Edge baseplate tabs. I posted some info in another thread here on this forum.

we use a 8" 'inverted' drop extension for our Fiesta, since the baseplate connectors sit higher on the vehicle than the height of the Palazzo receiver. The pin height is 23" for the Fiesta, the Palazzo receiver sits at about 15" at ride height, so we have to INCREASE the coach receiver's overall height.

70,000 miles and no issues.

our Palazzo receiver sits at about 15", our Fiesta tabs are at about 23", so I use an 'inverted' 8" drop extension to bring them level.... has worked well for 70,000 miles+

The Edge and MKX are on the same platform, surprised there is a difference? We are in the process of replacing our toad and have narrowed it down to the Ford Edge Sport, MKX, Buick Envision, and Jeep Grand Cherokee.

When checking toads, check the baseplate manufactures web site and see which one fits the best. The Entegra hitch is 21 inches. When I checked the Colorado it was also 21 inches with the Blue OX plate......sold

Have a 10000lb Roadmaster towbar and Roadmaster does not show the height, at least not that I could find?

I guess that is a big plus for Blue Ox, they show the height and widith on the front page of each base plate. Find a Baseplate | Blue Ox | Blue Ox
I wonder why Roadmaster does not do the same since it's kind of important for proper towing. I looked and could not find any specs either.
