Dryer

DW complained dryer was taking forever so I remembered a similar problem
from our house the vent was cloged. So I looked at the vent outlet in the engine compartment and sure enough the vent was clogged I removed the vent and discovered that there is a cross hatch pattern to keep things from entering the vent it was totally clogged so I cut the obstruction and dryer works like new

I cut out that pattern early on as it looked like a fire hazard as well as clogging up problem. No clogging up problems since.

Bob, I wrote a thread on this same thing a year ago. For some reason half of the dryer vents had the grid work and half did not, according to Joyce at Entegra cs. At that time I suggested everyone look in their vents and if there was a grid, remove the vent and cut it out. I suspect there are several others still out there. Another thing I noticed that when you pull the filter to clean it if there is excessive lint build up behind the filter you better check the vent for being plugged. Noel

How do you do that if your dryer vents to the PS and not the engine compartment?

Bob, I suspect that type vent doesn't have the problem. Noel

Bob, I checked our type of vents when Noel made that post last year. Our type of vents do not have the screen like the engine compartment vents do. We're good to go.

Hawgguy, I have the ps vent. Ours clogged this winter and you can't clean it very easy since it is all painted and part of the outside of the coach. Reading this post, I noticed the 45K has the plastic grid that catches all the lint. I guess I can just cut it out since it has a door on the vent and that will stop anything from entering? I might give that a try. Good post everyone.

Mike, good to know. It might be another one of those as Noel found out about the rear vents, half had the screens, the others did not. Good thing if everyone checks their vents to see if it is screened or not.

Not sure Mel. I think the OP has a coach floor plan with the Dryer in the back. Mine is mid-ship and vents out the PS.
