Eastern Canada in ‘22

We are anticipating the border opening and want to start planning our route for Eastern Canada in 2022.
I know we will enter through Sault Ste. Marie and crossing back at Quebec City. Eventually, heading to Bar Harbor,ME. in late fall. Then onto VT, NH, NY, PA,
Looking for suggestions on places to stay along the route both in CA and NE US.

If you have the time, drive north of Quebec to Mont Tremblant. It's a wonderful little village with a large lake and great food

We have thought about going all the way to Labrador City?
Has anyone done that, what can you say about the roads and diesel fuel stops?

Hi, been living in qc for many years and have been up in labrador city. It has been 4 years ago the last time but when i have done it the last 100 miles before arriving to lab city all roads are mine roads. That being said mine roads are gravel type very narrow style roads. But i must say that the views are good, once you go past labrador city all roads are paved until you reach the ocean where you can take a ferry to cross over to South of st laurence river,.

Hope this helps , if you needs any advice on local quebec routes i can help been all over the province with the same type of rig as you

Phil Nail took the whole summer and drove his coach all the way as far as you can go on decent roads to the east in Canada. My memory is that he probably made that trip in 2019. Phil will show up here and he can give you good information. He is a regular reading (and posting) on the forum.

You must have a magic crystal ball to know that. When it does open recreational travel will only be for fully vaccinated individuals.

Have you thought about doing Canada with Adventure or Fantasy RV Tours? If I were to do it, I think that will be the way I go.

We went all the way to Newfoundland in 2019. We are going back next year and spend at least 2 months there. You drive to the top of Nova Scotia to Sydney, NS drive on the ship 7 hours later you are on a Newfoundland. Cost was cheap about $800 US round trip

Plan on spending 30 days there to get to see things. Roads are really good. When are you planning on going?

I’ll second this. We went in 03 and spent 4 weeks. Took the long overnight ( 12-14 hour ) ship to St John’s. Then drive the 400 Mile rock ( as they call their island ) up and down every peninsula. Took the short (7 hour) ferry back from Port Aux Basques. Nicest people we’ve ever met and still are in touch with many and had some of them to our home here. Met a few Caravans along the way. We saw and did more for a lot less.

Lynn, I know many are extremely satisfied with the rv tours but I’m too cheap! We are considering down the road at some point because they do sound like fun.

Phil, we are thinking of entering CA around Memorial/late May. EC just sent out a tickler for HC and are now thinking of doing that if we can, then press on.

Ottawa, Montreal, And Quebec City are on our list as well as NS.
Our only commitment on timing is to be near Bar Harbor by early Sept. to meet some friends.

Would really like more info on your trip. And do have some questions.
Let me know how you would like to communicate.
Tom
