I was a member for three years and don’t remember getting any notices or information from the power club and therefore did not renew.... I don’t think they see their role to be information providers.

I do not get any updates through the Power Club. I usually have my Cummins dealer check when in for service.

I did not ask what updates/changes the software made, but my guess is the engine stays in the upper RPM's longer to produce more/better power, does not seem to shift as soon, which in turn would make it burn more fuel.

Overall, yea I wish I had my old fuel mileage back, however it does run a lot nicer. Not 100% sure on the mileage loss, looking at my average on the display its down from 8.7mpg to 7.9mpg. Its not like I can do anything about it, had to be done.
It's possible that the mileage is simply more accurate. I've noticed that the gas pump always gives me a lower mileage reading than the computer...

I very rarely am able to fill up completely to actually check what I am using, all these gas stations have that silly shut off at some dollar amount like $99, or you have to go prepay and guess how much, etc. Blows my mind you can't swipe your card at the pump at truck stops, yea I talking to you LUV's.

These problems have simple solutions....

1.). Simply swipe the same credit card again and you get another $99 or $100. No problem.... do it all the time.

2.). If I have to go inside, I always say I need 150 gallons or the cost of 150 gallons. They punch that in and preapprove that total cost, but if I only need 112 dollars, the station/pump automatically refunds the difference back to my credit card (but I go back in and get a receipt to guarantee that the refund shows).... do it all the time.

Both procedures let me fill the tank to the top

My problem is that the local stations have unrealistically low limits for CC authorizations, especially considering the stupidly high prices in CA. I know, limits are usually set according to the merchant's category code, but they make no allowance for expensive areas. What causes the problem is that two fills are not enough, and the third is always declined. I regularly use the CC for two fills, then pull out a debit card for the third. Waste of time and I'm blocking several pumps.

Pull out the second card.

Stemco states no more window leaks so it must be true.
They are composite instead of aluminum.
When I took my Anthem to Cummins of Houston today for the hub work, I asked about the necessity to update the ECM. I was told that without any codes or issues, it wasn't necessary. Now, that is just one service writer's opinion, but that is what I was told. He said that warranty covers ECM upgrade IF there is an issue if there is a almost $ 400 charge to have it done.

My experience has been that some stations allow that and some do not. Also, some will allow you to swipe the same card twice but not more than twice. I carry three cards, so I can always use another card, but it is a pain in the a$$ to use 3 cards for one fill up, and $300 is not always enough for a fill up. Sometimes it seems easier to go into the cashier and prepay using one card, but that too is a nuisance.

I was told this same thing twice. Here in Florida, Ocala Cummins, and in Massachusetts. But in Massachusetts I had CEL on and the updates were done. No notice in any engine performance after updates.

Thanks for the update on the new price. I agree with the Tech if there are no required updates, don't spend the money. That info can be found with a phone call if any requirements are out.

I am surprised to hear what you were told about cost. My Cummins dealer runs my vin and can tell is there are any updates. I only had the 15 flashed once and it did not cost me anything.

Both Love's and Flying J have pump start cards for the truck pumps. The Flying J will work on most RV pumps but not all.

No charge if under the 5 year warranty and there is a Campaign for the updates like we had on the Classics.

If you are out of warranty and go in just for updates, there is a charge. It use to be $99. now $400. Cummins normally has all the computer bugs worked out in the first couple of years.
