ECOA and FMCA Rallies

We acquired our new to us 2013 Aspire June last year. I am having trouble organizing my trips as every time I am thinking of going somewhere I find there is no availability. I also belong to ECOA and FMCA. So I thought maybe a good trip might be to attend some of the event coming up for each organization.

So how many here are visiting the SD (ECOA) event and then moving to the FMCA event in Wyoming?

I am in Houston so trying to see if it makes sense. I mean, the Wyoming event is only 2 days (7/4 to 7/6) and the SD event is 4 days (7/7 - 7-10).

Anybody form the Houston area is going to these events? Just dying to get out there but having trouble scheduling it not because I do not have time to take off but rather planing it.

Thoughts?

ECOA anf FMCA Rallies

Go out on your own then while doing that start planning at least a year in advance. It’s just reality.

I’m signed up for the ECOA in Spearfish, SD but going in about 2 weeks early. Not doing FMCA this year. Might also look at joining AIM (All Inclusive Motorhome). They do fantastic rally’s. Unfortunately getting reservations now is harder. I’m sure some cancellations will happen, so might need to be flexible.

We will be at ECOA in Spearfish. Then taking toad to FMCA to check out vendor area on July 7. Is that enough time to check things out? Interested in accessories and looking at new coaches.

We are doing both events, but coming from the east. We have been planning a 3 month summer trip and have not been having trouble finding campsites. We have not filled in all the blanks yet, as we still like to be flexible. Hopefully it works out.

The ECOA rally in Spearfish is 7/2-7/6. There are nearly 80 coaches registered. I’m not sure what the max is but you probably want to make a decision quickly. I’m not sure if the FMCA in Gillette is still accepting reservations because we opted to skip that one and stay in Spearfish. I’ll second Lynn’s recommendation for you to check out AIM also (AIMclub.org). They also have some great rallies. On most rallies, the advice is to book as quickly as possible. Many rallies book full quickly. If you are too late, get on a wait list. There are always cancellations. Same for campgrounds. If you have one you want to visit, call at least once a week and try to be a little flexible on dates. You can usually manage to get a spot. Safe travels whatever you decide.

Another reason to get on an AIM waiting list is that sometimes (often?) if the waiting list is large enough and the logistics can be worked out, a second rally will be added. Back to back.
