Electric Basement Tray (EZ-Glide) No Power

I was hoping to tap into the wisdom of the group for what I hope is not a huge undertaking. This morning when I went into the basement to slide out the aft of the 2 full-slide basement trays, I am not getting any movement from the switch (on either side of the coach, in or out, just dead). The forward full-slide works without issue from the switch so I sort of ruled out a fuse or breaker issue. Getting to any of the wiring is a bit of a challenge as the tray is locked in the stored (center) position covering it all. Is there a second fuse or breaker that I am missing? Is there a way to release the slide tray to manually pull it out so I can get to the wiring to look for any issues? Or am I going to have to unload the tray and take the floor out? Any insight is very much appreciated.

You can try the switch on the opposite side of the coach. If it works with one switch, but not the other it would be a failed limit switch - usually from a bent arm. If not, you'll have to pull the floor panels up.

You should have 12 volt power to the tray via the black and white wires. It uses the rocker switches in conjunction with the limit switches to control movement. The two limit switches in the middle will stop the unit when retracted sio those are the first ones to check. The switches on the outer end of the trays are just used to prevent overtravel when fully extended and the white wire is common while the green and brown are the directional wires that control the relays.

Actually the relays themselves could have failed or a wire may simply have fallen off.

If still stumped you can call Fleming Sales (the maker of the trays) at (574) -295-0234 ext 106 and Josh can help you,

Thank you for the insight. Unfortunately, the switches on both sides of the coach do nothing to move the tray. Are the relays located on the floor of the basement next to the motor as well? I will reach out to Fleming tomorrow and report back with findings.

Eric, to elaborate on something Mark mentioned, if you unload any cargo you have in the tray you should find the carpeted panels that form the floor of the tray can be removed by reaching under them and pushing upward.

After you do that, the steel frame will still be in place, but you should have pretty clear access to the wiring, switches, etc.

Thanks Larry. After I had sent the message I went out to have a look more closely and saw what you said that the tray floor panels are just gravity set. Small victory! While it is less than desirable that I am having to chase "ghosts" I am happy to say that after manipulating the switch plugs on both sides, and letting the coach sit for an hour the tray magically started working again. Just had the DEF head replaced and updates performed by Cummins and since then having odd and random electrical quirks. Related? shouldn't think so, but not a fan of coincidences.

After my DEF head replacement and ECM update by Cummins I had to reboot the chassis 12v system. My Adaptive Cruise Control was not working and giving an error message It was the two switches back by the starting batteries. I also rebooted the 12v house system. All was good after that.
