Electric or Induction Cook Top?
Hello. My husband and I are considering an Anthem and we've gotten two different answers to this question. We are wondering about the cook top. The rv dealer we spoke with says that it is an induction cook top however the Entegra site says it is electric. Now induction could possibly be described as electric, so I am confused. Is it indeed induction or traditional electric?
Any help would greatly be appreciated. I'm crossing my fingers it's induction.

Unless it changed in 2014, it's electric in the Anthem. Not sure about the Cornerstone. We're seeing induction as a next big "feature" on several coaches. Apparently American has it on some of theirs. Also it may be able to be added later.
We looked into it but after 6 months, we don't miss it, but that's just us.

Ours is electric. I think. We bought our coach in early July, spent 25-30 nights in it and haven't even turned the cooktop on yet!
We have used the microwave and convection oven a lot.

Induction is clearly superior. Both American and Tiffin have them as standard on their high end coaches.

Here's a good article on the + & - of induction.
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/07/di...anted=all&_r=0
I used to work somewhere that sold induction...& there were far more unhappy customers than with other type ranges BUT those that had the right cookware (absolutely flat iron is best!No copper, aluminum or teflon.) and knew of the issues in advance seemed far happier. Certainly will save a LOT of amp hours.

We carry an induction portable cooktop with us. What a great way to cook. Need special pans but worth it. Brings water o a boil ultra fast.

Induction vs Electric
bbot
We were told at the 2013 Good SAMs Rally in Daytona, where we bought our Aspire, that the electric cooktop is induction. We have an induction cooktop at home and we love it. We do not like cooking on the gas top in the Aspire as much because it is not as precise as then induction top at home. We have an Anthem 44B on order with the induction top !

I don't belive your '13 Aspire has induction. My '13 Antthem does not. Not sure about the '14's.

Thanks all
Thanks all. Yes, I am familiar with induction. We have a portable induction cook top in the motorhome we have now as our stove is propane and I hate using it. Have not used it in years. I prefer the induction. Love the induction.
I was not looking for a comparison to traditional electric vs induction. I was simply wondering if the Entegra's had the induction or if it was indeed a traditional electric element.
We're going to another dealership today so I shall find out the answer. I will update this post and let you all know what I find out.

It is NOT induction but electric like others have said. However, I use mine daily and find it to be very good. I guess the only complaint that I might have is that it is difficult to just "simmer" something as the heat does not go low enough in my opinion. But on the other hand I love that it has no knobs, it is super easy to clean, does not need any covers, increases the counter space because you can put stuff on top of it (when it is not on). Our last coach had propane and the first week we owned it (not used to propane) I ended up with a VERY severe burn on my hand, all the way up to my elbow and burnt my eyelashes, eyebrows and hair (thank God most of my hair was in a ponytail). After that incident I was petrified of lighting it. No more propane stoves for me!
I have never owned induction so can't comment on how this one compares.
