Tiffin Allegro Bus, has an optional emergency egress door, behind the bed headboard. The LED lighting I added.

The number 37 in the post above is approximate and most likely + or - 2 from 37..... I used Stu's (777Driver's estimate)...

That is without question the fanciest emergency exit I have ever seen!

Learned this from Mac the Fire guy:

1. Make a plan for escape.
2. Make a simple dowel to prop open the emergency window. Keep it by the window.
3. Forget about dogs and cats. You won’t have time.
4. One of you will get at least some burns.
5. Keep a small bag by the exit window with copies of drivers license, some money, and extra credit cards.
6. If you have a fire extinguisher, spray your partner. Don’t try to put the fire out.
7. Open the exit window and prop it open. Throw a blanket over the sill. Toss out your bag with extra documents and money.
8. First one out goes feet first. Second one follows, also feet first.

After our lesson we all had a chance to go out of our bedroom window. My wife went out first. It isn’t as high as you think, by the time you lower down your feet are only a few feet above the ground.

Mac was most adamant that speed is of the essence. Don’t worry about clothes, personal items, even pets. Again, the second person out will get burns.

If you’re lucky it will be a small fire, but I personally have seen two RV fires and between the toxic smoke and fast burning materials you don’t have much time for decision making. Make and follow a plan.
