If you decide to go with a professional driver and have any difficulty finding one, let me know. I have a friend and former co-worker (in Beaumont, TX), retired now, with a CDL and a lot of experience driving not only a semi but also a Prevost pulling a stacker (our former employer's bus). Don't know if he would have the time but he's an excellent driver and I'd be willing to ask. PM me if you want any additional info.

All
I apologize for not responding to the other responses, but as you can imagine we have been in a whirlwind of activities. My son flew out to SAN Antonio and helped me drive to Stanford (3 days). We are all set up at Trailer Villa and the surgery is happening as I type this note. This is taking a multidisciplinary team of oncologists, neurologists, radiologists, plastic surgeons, and anesthesiologists. The USAF has been great and they have fought TriCare to successfully have him treated at Stanford Medical Center. The tumor is sitting on his sciatic notch and impacting his sciatic nerve. The intent today is to remove the tumor, save as much of the sciatic nerve (graph if necessary), and kill any of the remaining tumors with radiology. A long healing process ahead (2 years if they have to graph his sciatic nerve), but we have prayers going across this country and know the my son is in God's hands Yahweh Rapha The Lord Who Heals" (Exodus 15:26) – “I am Jehovah who heals you” both in body and soul. In body, by preserving from and curing diseases, and in soul, by pardoning iniquities."
I appreciate everyone's prayers and recommendations!!
Blessings!

Prayers from DFW as well !
I learned how amazingly quick all those VERY important things become trivial when your son is involved...
best to you.

Hogdriver thank you for the prayers! By chance we're you an RC-135 pilot since its nicknamed 'the Hog'? If so I also flew that as a crew member for the USAF intercepting the Morse code. Hard to believe how many still use it.

I am praying for my Travis AFB brother. The only thing that matters is the runway in front of us. Can't wait to see you with wheels up again!! Herb

Thank you Herb and everyone!! Brent completed a marathon 16 hour operation with 5 surgical teams! They removed about a softball size malignant tumor growing through his sciatic nerve notch. The removal was successful but they had to remove about 4" of his sciatic nerve. The grafted in nerves from the back side of his legs and around 1030PM he was finally brought into the recovery room. It was great to see him awake and talking. I stayed with Brent thru the night and continued in prayer! We had prayer occurring across the country. Churches we had never heard of contacted us to pray for Brent and miracles have occurred:
Miracles:
1. Tumor diagnosed only two weeks ago
2. USAF Tri-Care refused to transfer him to Stanford Medical. Flight Doctor escalated and had approval in 24 hours
3. Brent was originally scheduled to visit first doctor a week ago Tuesday. Flight doctor escalated to Stanford and they told Brent to come to ER
4. Brent reported to ER and when Oncologist saw the MRI he escalated
7. A week ago Sunday he had the biopsy and returned malignant
8. Five surgical teams rearranged their schedules to have the surgery yesterday
9. Tumor removed, nerves harvested from his legs, sciatic nerve grafted, radiation treatment applied, and closed after 16 hours!!
10. Next morning all doctors report a successful surgery, but more importantly Brent already could lift his leg, bend at the knee, and have feeling down to his ankles. (Doctors only expected the thigh and were shocked ... no a miracle!) Hallelujah!!!
Bottom line diagnosis to solution completed in 2 weeks!!!!!
Our continued prayer is for the cancer to stay in remission, the drop foot (think pushing a gas pedal) is cured, and he gets back in the aircraft commander seat serving this great country flying the KC10 quickly. He has only wanted to fly since he was 4!!
Being able to bring our coach here and being with my son was incredible and as an added bonus having three days to spend with my son driving to CA, and him comforting his dad - PRICELESS.
Again thank you everyone! God is alive and still answering prayers!!!
