Engine Hatch Actuators

I just had one of the rear hatch actuator fail. Lucky I was able to lift one side by hand while the other worked. The motor had a lot of rust inside which I am sure contributed to its failure.

Replacement Info

Extended Length: 22 1/2” or 520mm
Retracted Length: 13” or or 330mm
Throw (piston length) 7 1/2” or 190mm

If found a similar part with almost the exact dimensions of under $50.

Here is the link? Have anyone on this forum used this Actuator or another. I do not want to spend the money buying from the manufacturer.

I had this one bookmarked in my cart , believe I got the link from on this forum. Have not purchased it yet, but either one is worth a shot compared to the OEM ones cost.

Amazon says I purchased another variation (450 mm) May 31, 2019. It's still working fine, and I do have a fairly heavy box spring mattress.

I use a similar one on my bed, works good.

But one issue is that with this type of actuator, at least on mine, there is no way to move it if it fails. So on the bed I rigged a quick pull pin so that when the actuator remote failed I could lift the bed. The actuator itself worked but the remote didn't. So I just hard wired the actuator to a reversing switch.

RE: Perfect Fit

The pair of rear hatch actuators arrived today and the fit is perfect. All dimensions are the same as the originals. The pair were $90.00 delivered from Amazon.

The hole for the pin is just shy of 1/4" so use a 1/4 Drill Bit for a perfect fit. These motors are faster and lift 330lbs each. Looking at them I bet the factory ones are made by the same company.

My motors were replaced at no charge

When one of my motors failed, I contacted the manufacturer (I think it was MORyde) for the part number and they told me that the motor should not have failed and that they need to be replaced in pairs to make sure they run at the same speed. They then sent me two new motors and mounts at no charge, even though my coach was out of warranty. You might try getting the part numbers from Entegra, then contacting the manufacturer to see if they will send you the parts.
