Engine Light Reset

I currently have an engine fault code of spn 641 fmi 9, which according to Cummins, is now inactive. I've called Cummins and Spartan, but neither one can tell me how long it takes for the engine light to go off. One person said it should go off immediately after the fault code is inactive, another person said it would go off after 4 engine cycles and someone else said that they don't know. Ugh! My coach is at the Cummins shop currently, but they say it's difficult to fix a code that is no longer active because the issue resolved itself. Anyone know of a way to see if a fault code has gone inactive, so I don't have to take it to Cummins every time this occurs? I understand there's an Android app that I can download and it works with a bluetooth device that I can plug into a connector under my dash. This app is supposed to tell you if the code is active, but you can't reset the engine light.

Can't help with the rest but any code I have had that is no longer applicable went away after 4-5 engine starts.

I would think the an EMC update would get rid of inactive codes, but if Cummins says no, that would be strange.
