If you plug in your engine pre-heat in the engine compartment, do it while you're hooked up to campground electric and not pulling from you batteries. After engine start and during your walk around, then unplug as you no longer need it. IMHO you don't need to plug it in (use your in coach engine pre-heat), unless the temps are down around 10 degrees...but about a hundred people would likely say on here in response to that approach, which is what the Spartan tech told me, say plug it in at 40 degrees. Of course they are driving SOB. Plugging it in at a higher temp isn't going to hurt anything...just make sure you unplug after engine start. JMHO
