Good question, I'll have to check as I was driving when this all started and didn't think to look when we stopped. What should they say?

When disconnected from shore power and generator not running the Magnum will say Inverting if inverter is turned on. The EC 30 will show the current house battery and engine battery voltage. If the engine is running the engine battery voltage should be around 13.8 and be same as on dashboard.

Engine

Hi was interesting about the engine going to high speed. My question is little different. When I start up the volt meter goes to high then drops back to normal then back up again. It does this for a while then after a few minutes it is okay. Nothing seem wrong but was just wondering.

Another question of Entegra people we are parked at the Elks in Lake Havausa AZ. We were in a dry camp area with a good slope. My wife was worried about putting the slides out on the low side without leveling it with jacks. When at the Spartan school this was brought up & people said to put your slides out first then your jacks. Kind of opposite of other coaches. Just wanted make her happy & check on this. Also another guy asked me about the back wheels off the ground to get level. I called Spartan after hours number & the guy said the running gear was okay but they have know the shocks would be pulled apart.
Thanks b.

The heaters really draw the amps.

Entegra is opposite. Fully aired up, slides out, jacks down. Back wheels off the ground is a no-no. That is where the parking brakes are located, on the rear wheels. Just me, but I won't park with any wheels off the ground. Rear wheels no parking brakes. Front wheels off the ground is when windshields pop. Learned that one the hard way.

While saying our good byes to the neighbors the ‘engine went into a fast idle mode on its own.’ Checked the dash for any warning lights(none) and all gauges were normal.

Thinking maybe it went into exhaust regeneration mode due to previous extended idle run time. The engine returned to normal idle when I relocated the park brake to put in gear.

I know the engine has been in regen mode before while driving, as I could smell the change in the exhaust. But have never seen any warning lights on.

My question for all is, Is there supposed to be a warning lamp indicating the exhaust regeneration?
Thanks, Andy
My 2012 Aspire will go into fast idle and regen from time to time...no lights on the dash light up.

[QUOTE=GRedman;5151264]Ours has started doing the same thing. The dash did say low voltage of 12.1V vs13+. My question is how do you know if it's the chassis batteries, house batteries or the alternator. I also get a warning Battery! Low Voltage blinking on the dash. Thought it might have to do with the inverter, so on the short trip home yesterday I turned the inverter off. No warning for about 90 minutes and then it started just like it did when the inverter was on.

Would be the chassis batteries.
Have your chassis batteries been replaced?

This is normal, as I was told by Spartan rep. Probably(just guessing here) to keep the alternator from over heating due to a constant heavy load trying to get the low batteries back up to somewhat normal voltage.

Two years ago. Going to visit my local Interstate location and get them to take a look.

Magnum does say inverting and I'm not sure where to look for the EC30 in my coach.

I don’t know about your 2011, but on more recent year Aspires it is the generator controller above the door.

In any pre-VegaTouches coaches I have ever seen, the EC-30s are in the compartment directly above the co-pilot's seat.

If that device is a new one to you, you really need to Google Magnum EC-30 Owners Manual and start at the beginning and read the whole way through.... there are a lot of important settings and operations in and controlled by the EC-30..... that is a piece of equipment that an owner really needs to understand.

Thanks for that advice and I'll do exactly that. BTW, just got back from my local Interstate Battery shop. Had a bad chassis battery. It was slightly beyond the replacement date, but Interstate replaced it for no charge. The young man even cleaned all posts and connections for the house batteries.

Great company and they definitely earned all my future business.
