Enroute to Branson camping

I know there is a camping forum on IRV2 but I searched it for Tulsa camping with 2, not very useful, results.

While we're enroute to Branson we intend to spend the night somewhere between Stroud and Tulsa. RvParkreview doesn't show many with good reviews along that route. Warrior on Union in Tulsa has pretty good reviews but one reviewer said it was tight for his 37' MH.

There is a KOA in Claremore but has horrible reviews.

Does anyone have an RON recommendation along I-44?

Vance, no recommendation for parks in that area, but are you familiar with the app RV Parky? It will show you parks in the area you are traveling or ask for and many are starting to show rating now. It show Walmarts as well Nice little app...sorry iguys have a .99 up charge.

I found a couple of 4 star parks in Chandler, still looking.

There is Mingo RV park north of Tulsa next to Flying J that's 3 stars and Expo Square 3.5 stars but in looks to be right down town. Probably for Trade Shows.

Chuck, I looked on RVParky also. Several sites said there is a noticeable lack of RV parks in the Tulsa area.

Thanks for searching!

Your welcome, gave me a change to play with RV Parky for an area I am not familiar with. "Most" big cities lack for RV Parks, real estate is too expensive. What use to be RV parks with 400 water and sewer taps are now high rise condos, the paid for water and sewer taps bring big bucks on the developer market.. Atlanta is the same way.

We discovered Beggs, OK. It's on an alternate route thru the area but may be a decent RON park.

Persistence, a thorough wife and a friend in Tulsa revealed Cherry Hill RV park. Now, if we can get the leak fixed, we can plan our departure!

A little off the freeway but we like Waters Edge RV Park near Ketchum. Request a pull in site giving you a gorgeous view of the lake. We stopped there last year coming home from Summerfest. Great overnight but wish we could have stayed several nights.

Waters Edge looks great on the website. It's a longer haul than we want to make on the way up. We will probably "wander" a little on the we home and will definitely put it on the list!

Thanks!

Not gamblers but one of our best parks was at the casino park at Durant, OK.

Cherry Hill was good 4 years back and now there is a new large RV park on 412 west of Sand Springs. Already full.

We are "camped" in a friends 5 acre yard west of Sand Springs.

Although we don't gamble, we've found that a number of casinos have good Rv parks and their food is not bad either if you can make it to the restaurants through the smoking area of the casino.
Try these two websites for state by state listings and descriptions and links to the parks:
ourfavoritecasinos.com
casino campgrounds.com

Cherry Hill looks like a hoot. It showed up on the Good Sam's app, but never could find it on RV Parky.

Send a message via Yahoo to wmpbauer
There are several Army Corps of Engineer campgrounds around Oologah Lake.

Also, look into Harvest Hosts.
