Entegra Friends in Snow and Ice

Seems we have a lot of friends in the snow and ice this weekend...thought I might put out a reminder on slide toppers:

If you get rain that subsequently freezes on the slide toppers, or if you get freezing rain, before pulling in slides to depart, make sure you break the ice up so that it doesn't foul, stretch, or otherwise damage you slide toppers.

Wet snow will also stretch them under its weight. Strongly recommend you use a step ladder and push mop or broom/brush and push that wet snow off. It will really foul the mechanism as the slides come in

Both are pretty hard on the toppers. Safe driving as well

Excellent post and heads up Dave. Another trick an old timer showed me is to put a beach ball blown up between the slide and the topper in bad weather. It will keep the rain and snow from accumulating on the topper. Problem is finding beach balls this time of year, maybe a pool supply store.

If the forecast is for freezing rain/snow, it would be best to bring the slides in.
