Entegra Homecoming - service question

We were successful in getting registered for the Homecoming. I am trying to find what the criteria is for the "three service items" that is included in the registration. While I am waiting for a response from Entegra I thought I would ask this group what your experience is with service items at past Homecomings. What is the criteria for the type of service? I assume if it requires parts we are responsible for the cost of parts.

Thanks in advance!

I believe if your coach is out of warranty you have to pay for the parts. And arrange the repair in advance so Entegra will have the parts needed on hand.

Only minor Entegra repairs are done but best to ask for what you need.

We have had luck getting more than three minor repairs done after everyone who needs a repair has had 3 done. This is not guaranteed.

This is one of the real benefits of homecoming. Entegra brings several service technicians over to the event.

We have had a few things done on our coaches that need parts and some repairs that do not require parts.

In the past it has been small items that can be done in short order. It can't be to re-roof the coach or something that would take 2 guys 1/2 a day or require shop equipment. They need your 3 items in advance so they can have the needed parts, if any, for your work order. Also to schedule other coaches with their work orders. Being close to their home, the can schedule additional service tech if needed.

I had my shades reprogrammed at one of the rallies and a shade motor changed.

Further, if it requires a part, you most likely need to have the part required in you possession. Entegra parts department is not omnipotent. One good thing to know is much of the OEM for our coaches are now companies owned by Lippert or components carried by Lippert. Lippert has a major distribution point short distance from the rally site. You can go there and get the part needed sometimes. An example…two years ago at Homecoming, the Entegra tech was looking into why my passenger side camera was not working…determined it was a pigtail…not available and no joy.

Criteria includes; You must have the parts, nothing performed on a ladder and the manager in the service writer area must approve the items.

I was able to talk with a lady at Entegra who confirmed that exact criteria - which is what I was looking for, mainly so I could identify what little things I might leave until then instead of tackling them myself. Looking forward to the seminars and meeting other Entegra owners at the homecoming. Thanks for the responses.

Parts costs

The advantage in purchasing parts before you arrive is that you can probably find a better deal than purchasing from the Entegra parts department. One reply mention replacement of a slide motor. Using that as an example, you can get them online cheaper (I have purchased several) and you can ask the manufacturer for a free relacement motor. MCD has sent me two out of warranty replacement motors because they felt the motors should not have failed and I did the installs.

As busy as the techs are, they can usually “squeeze” in an addition request.
HC was time well spent and fun. Just have to be flexible on your requests.
