Entegra Paint Defects

As the early 2014 coaches have had their issues with QC, ours is one and falls right in line with many of the problems posted here many times. Thinking we should have should have a checklist for coaches built in this timeframe of things to look for, that probably will happen if not already addressed. However, there has been very little discussion from folks regarding bad paint jobs. Hopefully we are the one off that was the last Friday paint job of some long holiday weekend! We want to share our experience we did not order this rig but purchased it at about 90 days old. During our first detail job we noticed several paint problems and immediately reported the issues to Entegra so they were aware it came this way. We had with lots of runs, orange peel, thin spots and the paint peeling off around all the slide out caulking. We have spent countless hours back and forth with Entegra over what they consider acceptable vs what we would live with(not fun). There were many debates, several paint quotes from shops in California (where we live) flat out refused for the labor rates, talk about sending it back to the factory (from California that is 4500 miles round trip). I am here to tell you that in the end Entegra came though like a champ. Did we get everything we believed bad covered under warranty? No, but the resolution was very fair and what we really believed had to be address was taken care of. While the coach was apart for all the paint repairs we also decided to make some color changes (on our dime) and add the stainless we have loved since seeing @wmpbauers months ago. There are many that would say it should have never have shipped from the factory the way it did, agreed! We are confident that from the positive input on the new quality controls in place, seen recently at the factory that the serious growing pains are behind Entegra. During the process we talked to countless painters many were too expensive or not willing to deal with Entegra. We were referred to Tony @ Straightline Auto Body in Eugene Oregon and he saved the day. Tony is an awesome person, a straight shooter and patient as a saint considering all the back and forth between us and factory….the best part is he is a fantastic painter/artist! If anyone on the west coast needs paint he is your guy. We love it and hope you do to! If you ever see the Entegra R&D bus out there be sure and say Hi!

He did a nice job. We will be making another trip back to Precession Paint next year after all of the silicone flashing is finished.

Wow! We have a Midnight Illusion DEQ as well and love it, but the white in the lower rear is beautiful and you made great use of the stainless. Congratulations on getting it right and making it yours!
