Enterga recalls

Took the 14 Cornerstone to get the recalls took care of last Monday. Ball joints good, exhaust tube good, starter ordered. Long story short, after waiting four days and no starter seems no more starters are going to be shipped until at least the end of Sept. Has anyone else been told this? Also, after being told the "exhaust tube" was good Spartan wants to install an additional heat shield for good measure. Fine with me. The starter delay has me somewhat concerned about what might happen between now and Oct. What say you?

Thanks ML

My thoughts would be if it hasn't created a problem in 3 years it will probably be good for another two months. (Easy for me to say when it is not my coach!!)

My GUESS is the vendor has ran out of that part number and they need a couple months to get the line up and running!

If it fails to crank between now and then, give it a whack with a BFH.

Excepting that, drive it.

I'd take the gamble and go! The worst that can happen is you'll be stuck in another parking lot waiting for parts and bi****ng about Spartan in another location.

The starter has been working since 2014 same as mine. Worse that can happen if it quits is put on other brand of starter from Cummins, NAPA etc and continue on. I am sure there are several aftermarket starters for Cummins engines, Spartan used one of those not from Cummins or it would have been a Cummins recall. Personally I would use a Cummins starter with a nationwide warranty and be done with it.
