Entry Step

I have a 2016 Anthem 44B and the entrance step just stop working. I checked the fuse in the exterior bay and it was fine. I also checked the fuse in bathroom cabinet and no problem there either. Is there any other place to look or could it be the step motor has just quit working. Any suggestions appreciated.
I'm actually headed to factory in late June but didn't want to wait that long using a step ladder getting in & out of coach.
Thanks,
BT-

Mine quit at less than 12 mos. Most likely it needed more lubrication. The motor that runs the step is the same as a power window actuator from a mid 80s Taurus and is easy to break. You can find exact replacements on the Interweb. As I recall they are sold by AM Equipment.

You'd think some savy machine shop like the Summit Stainless guys in Iowa could make some bucks by selling a more robust step unit retrofit. Especially for the Cornerstone.

Not to derail the thread but checkout those big hydraulic steps on the new high end Newmars.

The steps on my Cornerstone just stopped working two days ago. When looking at all the threads on step issues it appeared it could be a long troubleshooting effort. However, first things first. I put down a blanket and crawled under the steps to get a good look. Nothing out of the ordinary. I noticed two harness plugs by the control module. I just wanted to make sure that they were both tight. I unplugged the first two wire harness module and reseated the plug. No joy. I unplugged the multi wire harness plug and reseated that connection and the steps began working immediately. Whew! Hope yours might be that easy.

As a field fix try spraying all of the swivel points of the steps down with a lubricant of your choice. Then tap the motor lightly with door open and the step switch on.

The new motors are no where near the quality of the old step motors. On the Travel Supreme you rarely heard of a motor going out. Mine last 12 years. On the Entegra I replaced the first motor in 2 years, many a lot sooner. Kwikee now owned by Lippert, the quality is no longer what it use to be....I wonder where they are made now???

Dave, just for fun, I checked AM Equipment : Passenger Side Step Motor [210-1012] - $70.76 site for pricing and the motor were $70.

The Taurus widow motor for the TS steps was $49.95 at Auto Zone and I picked it up at the store on my way to the MH. It is a generic motor with about 6 different wiring plugs included for different cars. I did have to use the plug from the old motor, but it was a 2 minute swap and it was still working when I sold the MH.

Entry Step

Mine stopped working and I found that the magnetic switch down low on the door opposite the hinge side had cracked on the back side and let water in, you can see the back side of it if you look in fender well toward the door. I was able to tap on it with something hard and the step went out. Just something to check.

There is a manual release beneath the step. If your step is stuck out you can reach underneath and pull the strap, which will disconnect the cover from the mechanism. That will allow you to push the cover in to expose the steps so that you don't have to use a stepladder to get into the coach.
