Entry step replacement for 2015 Cornerstone

As mentioned in a previous thread, the entry step for our 2015 Cornerstone failed. We are out of warranty and are relying on the extended warranty we purchased when we bought the coach. Apparently, the failure was extensive and warranted a complete step replacement which was covered by our warranty insurance company.

Then things got a bit complicated. When Lazy Days tried to order the steps, they were informed that they were no longer available. The 2016 and beyond steps are too wide to fit the "classic" coaches. The initial story I got from the dealer was that they would "repair" the existing steps. That option was totally unacceptable to me as I was confident that the repair would fail as well.

Fortunately, Joyce and Entegra came to the rescue.. Entegra has come up with a replacement kit that is basically a narrower version of the new step design!! ( Take note classic Cornerstone owners). It will take a couple of weeks to get the parts but, by mid November, they should be installed.

I will post photos once the installation is complete.

Once again Entegra comes through. No, it was not a factory warranty repair but, they helped me get the issue resolved That's why we bought the brand we did.

It is a warranty repair under my extended warranty with Cornerstone Insurance. $200 deductible.

....... and what would the price have been if you did not have insurance and had to pay for it out of your pocket?

If any of you cornerstone owners make it thru Atlanta I would be more than happy to give you a set of steps for free. I repaired and replaced mine more than once, so I have an extra set that I used to get parts from. Everything is still intact. Just saying, otherwise I will be using them as a boat anchor. Taking up too much room in my garage. Be ready they weigh about 110 pounds.

Fortunately, I did not have to find that out. My suspicion is that it would be in the $2000 range w/labor.

What a great offer from Dusty56. At the price that Ralph posted, it would be worth a trip to Atlanta.

Check with your dealer. Mine quoted less than of what Jayco parts quoted. Go figure.

Got an new step kit when we were at Camp Entegra (warranty). Don't know the cost, but they go in and out much slower than the "classic". I find I have to wait to exit until they extend.

They must be really slow. My Classic steps are a lot slower than the TS steps. I also have to wait for my steps to go out. Someone at S&S paint did not wait and burnt the motor out stepping on the steps to soon. Another day back at Entegra for new motor.

STEPS

I don't know if this will help. Tiffin has a recall on steps. Check it out. If it is the same brand, you may be able to get under that recall. Worth a try.
