Welcome to the club. Open or closed?

Assuming that the coach has power, the likeliest culprit is lack of lubrication. Lube the heck out of all the joints. Underneath, the motor (from a Taurus power window) drives a gear that rotates a shaft. The shaft bushings should be well lubed, and any moving junctions you can find.

Another possibility is that the gear has stripped (usually due to stepping on the steps while they are still in motion). In that case, you need a new motor.

Then there are fuse and electrical issues. I can't speak to those well, but someone will come along soon.

In addition to DeeGee's accurate post is to check the two brass contacts at the lower right corner of the door. Those are the switch contacts. Also the plug for the motor and controller under the steps. That plug is located where it gets the road spray and can sometimes get dirty and corroded.

Can you feel the motor trying to work when the door is opened and closed? If so, lube point as DG mentioned.

There is no motor noise at all. Looks like it’s getting no current whatsoever.

I did check the fuses. Customer service told me to check the magnet connection that comes thru the wheel well wall. And see if the map lights come on in the auto position when the door is opened.

On the motor, I have had to put my hand on it to feel if it is getting power and trying to work. Nothing to hear if it is not working.

As an FYI, my motor quit with no warning when one of the tech at S&S stepped on the step while it was moving. The new motors are not as strong as the motors of the older model steps.
