Exceptional drive today

Yesterday's drive down NM 491 south of Shiprock was close to terrifying. My wife said she had the same feeling of impending death that she gets on a roller coaster! Lots of construction and lane shifts. Hit "whoop-d-doos" several times, one set was 4-5 in a row that threw the coffee pot, iPads and chargers off the counter and dislodged the satellite receiver! I was doing about 55. One lane shift felt like we were a only couple degrees short of rolling over! Lots of chaos!

Today's drive made up for it! 267 miles from Gallup to Santa Rosa on a very smooth I-40 with a 15-20 mph direct tail wind! No road noise! Ride was like gliding on a cloud! The exact ride and sound you would expect from Entegra's brochures! We also got 11.6 mpg for the leg!

We love our Entegra!

I know what you experienced...did same road last August on way to El Paso fastest route to empty out house. Never again...been on this road many times so we were a little surprised. Even at 35mph it was punishing. We pulled into Sky City Casino 3 hours late.

Roger,

We were well north of your route, on I-40 from Gallup through Albuquerque to Amarillo. The road was one of the smoothest we have been on. Sounds like you were on I-10.

Vance I was commenting on US 491 between Shiprock and Gallop, NM. There are sections as you describe that if you take them at 55mph your coach will go airborne.

Sorry, I am a little slow this morning! We definitely found the airborne sections! DW said if that is the only way to Moab she will never go to Moab again and she loves Moab!

The only alternative is US 550 from Farmington to Albuquerque. It's 4 lanes most of the way. Just no places to camp once you leave Bloomfield.
