Extended Warranty Quote
Am considering an extended warranty (AKA insurance plan) for my 2015 Entegra Anthem. Have read the threads on the site about pros and cons of these programs versus self insuring. I have a quote from Wholesale Warranties for a 4 year plan, (exclusionary plan comprehensive and seal/gasket coverage) with 40K additional miles to what I have on the coach now with full tire and wheel replacement for $1658 a year with $200 deductible. The insurance company is Viking Protection Plan by American Bankers. AM Best rates them AA and they have an A rating by BBB. Does anybody have experience, good or bad, with these companies and I welcome feedback on the quote. We use the coach about 8K miles a year. Thank you!!

You and I have the same coach. I would bank the ~ $7,000 it is going to cost you for the extended warranty into my own bank or invest it in a conservative place, and self insure. I sure as heck am hoping that my costs over the next 4 years are nowhere close to ~ $7,000 over the next year........... we will see. Even if I buy a complete set of Michelins early on any objective basis, I should be thousands ahead in my bank account.

Did you see the recent post about a 40k diesel repair? I'd be the unlucky one that would have that happen. I'd go with a well-rated extended warranty and include the cost as a "cost of living the lifestyle".

Randy, if you're worried about the engine, Cummins provides a 5 year warranty for Vocational Use (RV) applications.
I don't know when your coach entered service, but if it entered in 2014, you're still good for another couple of years.
Also, you can buy an extension to the Cummins warranty, through them, as long as you're still within the original warranty period.
Frankly, I'm with Gary on this one.

X3 on being with Gary... forget the extended warranty ... when something brakes ... fix it... with the money you would of spent on the warranty..
Without any deductible or fine print telling you that oh.. we're sorry
That's not covered....

Difficult often to get an extended warranty to pay for such repairs. They look for any excuse to disallow on big ticket repairs. Also read the contract regarding collateral damage. They may pay for the part that failed, but not for the block or turbo that the failed part went through and destroyed after it failed.

Ditto what Gary said, good advice.
I bought the extended warranty and have used it once so far to the tune of $1000 in 3 years. IMHO, that $7000 in your investment plan would go far greater and be more versatile for you.
